New Member Guide To LO and Moderators

December 30, 2007 by Blackhat · Filed Under Newbie Guides

Well, your new, and you just joined the best forum for Warhammer and all those other odd sorted games. What do I do first you ask? Ha, simple answer. Get acquainted. Familiarize yourself with the forums. How? The best way to do that is to explore; my friend. Well it’s easy to pick up once you get the hang of it. I’ll show you around.

The first screen you ever see is the NEWS page. This is what you get when you type www.Librarium-Online.com into your web browser. Off to the left, is the entrance to the forums. Its in bold mate, you can’t miss it.

Librarium Online is broken up into various sections; we’ve got everything an awesome club can have. You can scroll down the page the first chunk is basic stuff, like announcements, introductions, painting and scenery. I’d recommend an introduction first; you can rack up a few posts here if you’re interested on bringing post count up.

BE YOURSELF, WHEN YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF. Say Hi - tell a few things About yourself, what armies you collect, and what you’ve come to LO for. That way we can help you and point you in the right direction where you need to go next.

OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. We’ve had a few mishaps with users getting a problem, even if it might what you think is humorous will be offensive to others. Use logic when you post, I.e. does my commentary make any sense, and does it have a purpose in the forum? Has my question already been asked? Usually you will find the search toolbar useful. Type key words in the search bar. If it doesn’t come up with anything, it’s probably safe to post.

DEVELOP A PERSONALITY. What else can I say; we’ve got moderators that are really funny, have a comical sense, and know how to play hardball. If you develop one, you’re probably safe from the moderators in the first place. If you develop a personality your more likely to be accepted by the forum. Obnoxious personalities will probably not be a great idea. Be helpful, smart about the topic you specialize in ECT.

However if you want to get on the moderator radar, by all means, throw what I just said out the window. I’d like to get some entertainment.

Elsewhere in the forums:

Topping it off, we’ve got really great sub forums. The few that stand out the most to me are general discussions, member’s hangout, a nifty L.O. Trader Zone, and a club forum.

But here’s the part where L.O. is dedicated to; your army forum (excellence above all else) really says it here. Remember that newbie forum? We’ll point you to the right forum and you can ask your army questions there and discuss tactics.

In general discussions, you can ask stuff such as; “who’s your favorite character?” take polls and relate to the warhammer online community.

The second thing that helps you kill time is, Members Hangout. We chat about anything from bacon sandwiches, to current events and movie reviews that are related to fantasy
or warhammer type schematics.

I would like to put a spotlight on L.O. Trader Zone. If you have stuff your looking to bargain for or you need to get rid of some unused stuff, you can still be able to get rid of it. Also you can barter and trade services such as painting or buying.

1.For payment suggestions, Wire Money with western union, or Use Paypal.
2.Keep in touch with your client; this will help clear up communications.

Guide to your local moderator:

We currently have a ranking system here judged by how many posts you make, these posts have to be counted as helping out the L.O. Community. If you spam, you start to receive warnings from moderators and end up with a possible ban.

Now the big cheese is Blackhat. The owner and also the commander in chief on the forums. He says something, and it’s done. If you have a problem with a general moderator, you can ask him something and he’ll see if he can work it out.

GUIDE TO YOUR MODERATORS:

Phobos is quite a reasonable chap around this site, he’s survived more forum migrations than I care to ask, he’s worked out a lot of kinks in the system and banned many a spammer with his royal arcanium

Phobos: “Don’t hack me off. Follow the rules and I’ll be civil, but don’t follow them or otherwise be impolite, condescending or the like, you can expect my foot up your arse in fairly short order. Very blunt and to the point, not one for wrapping things in layers of meaning, although I appreciate punning and word play. A goldmine of information if you can catch me at a moment Im willing to part with it.”

Knape97 is one moderator I have just recently met; He’s really quite charming and reasonable, cautious and knows how to help out if you’re stuck.

Knape97: “Hummm, well. I suppose I am reasonably diplomatic, but don’t take that as I am a pushover. Push me too far and it’s no holds barred”

Edi, as we call him is now promoted from the ranks of members. Really quite charming and quite well to get along with.

Edicious: “Don’t be rude. Don’t think you’re better then anybody here. Don’t try to pretend “OMFG that sux u r so gay!” or ” don’t bother me about my speeling cuz I can’t be bothred” are complete, intelegent thoughts, because they’re not. I admit my spelling is not the best, but I make an effort to improve it and you should too. Don’t get upset because somebody disagrees with you. Don’t shout. Don’t trash anybody simply for the sake of trashing them. (Ex: America sucks! Everyone in it sucks! Their president is a trigger-happy idiot, so therefore all Americans must be the same. I’ve never actualy met an American ,but I, in my vast and all encompassing wisdom, know for a fact that this is true.) Just be cool and we’ll get along fine”

Toastee is a beloved moderator in the forums; he’s been here for god knows how many ages. Quite friendly and good to chat with. He’s a person to go to if you need help with something.

Toastee: ” Don’t be rude and stupid. I don’t mind a laugh and a joke, but if you take things too far, you’ll be warned. If you carry on doing it. Well…. bad stuff could happen XD Other than that, Im always willing to help.”

Another cool hand is CryoGenFx. Don’t have a lot to say personally but overall quite reasonable to work with and chat with in the forums.

CryoGenFX: “Just act within reason, and I’m fairly easy going. Have developed a short temper for idiocy though. But, come to know me, and I’m a great guy…no, really I am… ”

No information collected.
Nebulas: “Fairly easy going. Love arguing - especially when I win!”

WickedRock is quite knowledgeable in war hammer fantasy and war hammer 40,000, can be humorous sometimes..

WickedRock: “Eh? Don’t ask stupid questions, I guess. I don’t know”

Um, can we say great all round naked dwarf? Ulric brings out personality on this website and is one of my favorites.

KingUlricFlamebeard: “yellow water me off and expect a Inkie type tirade, post with care and respect of others. Oh and reporting a post simplely because someone has generally made a comment and you think its aimed at you does rankle my chain. Oh and always remember… dwarfs are great. ”
