The Complete Guide to Magnetic Mounting and Vehicular Conversion

This is the complete guide to magnetic mounting and vehicular conversion for the Tau army.
Required Supplies.
1/16″ Drill bit.
1/8″ Drill bit.
Super Glue. ( I like Krazy Glue™ , dries well, and fast )
1/8″ x 1/8″ Rare Earth Rod Magnets. ( Get from A1 Parts™ . 10 for $1.50, thats cheap. )
CAUTION!: Make sure to double check the polarity of the magnets BEFORE inserting them! For those with little experiance with rod magnets, they attract along positive and negative polaritys. If you have a Hardpoint with Positive out, and a Multi-Tracker with Positive down, it WONT attract, but repell. For best results, use the same polarity for hard points, and the opposite for your attachments.
PART ONE - Crisis Suits
Crisis Suits are some of the most variable, and dynamic Units in the whole Warhammer 40,000 game system. They can be geared to fight high numbers of light targets, tough targets, anti-vehicle, and pretty much any role you can think up.
To take premium advantage of your Crisus Suits, you need Magnetic Mounts.
STEP ONE.
Using the 1/16″ drill bit, drill about 1/6″ into all the points. Then, taking the 1/8″ drill bit, drill the hole down again to about 1/6″. The first hole helps provide a guide for the larger bit, and reduces possible damage to the peice, and allows a cleaner hole.
STEP TWO.
You may want to clean the area arround the hole with a hobby knife and or a file. After your satisfied, put a small drop of super glue into the hole, and then push the magnet into the hole, to the desired depth.
STEP THREE.
Paint over, and all your Wargear and Weapons will seamlessly attach to the various hardpoints. Congratulations, you have Magnetic Mounts.
PART TWO - Vehicular Conversion and Variable Configuation Set-Up
The Tau’s two main vehicles, the Hammerhead, and the Devilfish share one nice property. They are both based on the same vehicle frame. With not much effort, you can built your Tanks to allow them to be easily converted between Tank, and Transport.
STEP ONE.
DO NOT glue the Engines to the Frame. They can freely rotate otherwise, and look nice. If you need more friction, use a hobby knife to scar the joint peice.
DO NOT glue the Lower Turret Housing together.
DO NOT glue the Hammerhead Turret or Hatch to anything.
DO NOT glue the Railgun or the Ion Cannon to the Turret Mount peice. ( Its fine to glue the Main Gun mount peice to the Turret )
DO NOT glue Gun Drones, or the Secondary Weapon Systems into place.
DO NOT glue Burst Cannons or the Smart Missile System to their mounts.
STEP TWO.
At this point you should have a Hammerhead Turret with a Mount, and a Hatch. The Hatch peice will cleanly stick onto the Hammerhead Turret, or the Vehicle Frame. If you need a Devilfish, stick it on the frame, If you need a Hammerhead, stick it on the Turret.
You will want to drill holes, and insert Magnets into the Weapon Mount, and your Main Weapons. Now your Railgun and Ion Gun are interchangable, as well as the top half of your Vehicle.
STEP THREE.
With careful use of Green Stuff, Drilling, and Magnets, you can set your bottom turret up to where you can detach it and swap the Targeting Array and Burst Cannon.
STEP FOUR.
For your secondary Hammerhead Weapons, If not glued, you can simply, with care, swap the Missile Pods and Burst Cannons without damaging the side clips.
STEP FIVE.
With all the various Wargear available for Tau vehicles, You will definently desire to be able to swap peice, or re-arrange them. Just find places on your vehicles, drill, and insert Magnets. With Magnets attached to all your Wargear, this provides easy exchange among equipment.
STEP SIX.
Paint all parts carefully, so as to prevent difficulty in swapping parts arround. And, Enjoy you NEW, Fully Customizable Hammerhead/Devilfish.

Nice beginner guide, but the Devilfish has a forward mounted burst cannon while the Hammerhead has the sensor array. Careful cutting, drilling and use of magnets makes these swappable as well.
