My last battle was against a friend who played eldar. Being a space marine player with little fast attack I was very aware of being outmaneuvered, something which I knew would make me lose the battle. The battle was a normal pitched fight with three objectives and we had armies of 1500pts. He went first by moving 10 dire avengers into their transport and near the main objective. Apart from that he couldn't find much to shoot as most of my army was in cover and out of range. Then on my first turn I ran my Land Raider Redeemer along the flank and moved a combat squad up the other flank to try to remove the threat from the second avengers squad. He laughed at my attempt to destroy his banshees with my land raider as even at max range only a few died in the flames of my cannons. What he didn't know was that I had a whole sternguard squad with Pedro Kantor in its hold. They happily jumped out and slaughtered the rest of the banshees. The rest of my fire was directed at a squad of 2 walkers and I destroyed 1 and caused a weapon destroyed to another. I also shot down 5 avengers but they made their morale check.

In his second turn he tried to shoot out my sternguard but only killed 5 although his fire dragons did wreck my Land Raider. He also moved his striking scorpions towards my honor guard and they assaulted them later in that turn. Amazingly though I lost no marines and managed to cause the scorpions to flee where my guard ran them down!.

The next few turns were pretty dull apart from when I charged his autach with pedro kantor slaying him but leaving him out in the open so next turn he was shot down by those evil fire dragons. Then on the last turn my remaining sternguard attack the fire dragons in close combat as well as my honor guard assaulting the squad of dire avengers that had finally made to the objective but got slaughtered when they got there!! In the end I won 2:0 but it had been very close right until the end. My best unit had to be my honor guard, they all survived even though they had to make a dash from cover right in front of his anti-infantry squad and then got assaulted by his second a very large squad of striking scorpions!!

My Salamander Space Marines vs Orks - 1250 pts
Mission: Surprise Attack from Battle Missions
Enemy deployment was in the center of a 6x4 table, 12" from table edge. My opponent was caught with his pants down because he was not allowed any reserves, and he had to put his Kommandos and 'Ard Boyz right out on the table. I was allowed to come in from any table edge and deep strike any unit that was normally allowed.

Still, for all that, it was still an Annihilation mission vs Orks. Not a fun time. My strongest unit was my Terminators with Vulkan He'stan (my first time playing a game with that model). They tore up the 'Ard Boyz in shooting, but they quickly ran off to assault a Tactical Squad of mine, became engaged, and I could no longer shoot at them. That unit spent the rest of the game chasing other mobs.

The other planned prong of my attack was my 10-man Assault Squad (w/flamer, Sgt w/power sword), who jumped in their 12", shot pistols, then assaulted on the first turn. This would normally have been a game-changer and a major thorn in my opponent's side, except that all defending units in the mission were granted Stubborn. As a result, even though I won combat every single go, the Greenskins always tested at original Leadership and they did not break. The Kommandos were eventually bolstered by a mob of Shoota Boyz. We fought the combat eleven different times. Orks killed by me: 58. Marines killed by him: 10, and I was out.

In the end, my assault was too piecemeal and not well supported and I lost the battle 6 kill points to 3. Still, an awesome mission and I recommend it to Space Marine players.

I played Dark Eldar Raider force against Dark Angels.
I had 1500 points, and he had 2500 points.
It was a kill points mission.(Worst possible mission for Dark Eldar...)
I lost, but only just 7vs9... I started with 19 kill points and he started with 11. He had less than 750 points worth left at the end of the game, I killed 60 Marines... and lost 18 Dark Eldar:] It came down to one roll for the draw, 1 Drak Eldar Sucubus with Agonizer and Helm against Space Marine Squad Leader, I attacked first, 3 misses:[ (Only need 3+ to hit:[)
Just shows that Dark Eldar Rule! Which I could replace splinter rifles though, as I did not shoot 1 splinter rifle during the entire game (7 turns), rapid fire weapons do not suit Dark Eldar...

Interestingly, I did not win, it was a tie. Or at least my Opponent offered a draw and I accepted.

In an annihilation game, small 500 point game, I had assaulted and killed his captain and command squad, but he Krak Missled (Took 2 though!) my Battlewagon and finished my Poor Warboss before his squad went down. We both had 2 points, and a quick assault into a crater to get at his Tac. Squad gave me another.
After that... it came down to his scouts inside a bastion being invincible as he killed my Power Klaw and Kannon which were my only Str 8+ weapons. Chances were good he was going to kill Gretchen within the 2-4 turns left, but my lootas would be fine. Hence, a draw.

He's only ever gotten 1 win on me though :P

pts: 1000
armies: me (orks) vs. imperial fists
mission: dawn of war, 4 objectives

at first i had trouble with his 2 dreads, they carved up some trucks and took down all 3 of my koptas. however, strength of number and some pretty average dice rolling with my PK armed units proved enough to take 2 objectives and destroy his scouts on the only one he owned.

any tips for orks against armor? i got lucky that his dreads moved into CC range, but if he had had a pred i would have been in serious trouble. also, are deff koptas worth it with just twin-linked rokkits? their hit-n-run is just awful

Battle missions. Marine mission 3. Something about hold the flag. Anyway, SM are defenders. They set up in a 12" radius around an objective. Anyone within 3" is fearless. Enemy deploys 18" away from flag. Was a 1000 point game vs sisters. He had an IQ lord w/ 2 crusaders, rest of retinue I forget (was never used), 2 sisters units w/ 2 flamers and faithful superior, 2 exorcists. I had Khan, Epistolary Librarian w/ Avenger and MOTA, as well as 2 tac squads w/ Missile Launcher, flamer, and power sword, and a vanguard w/ dual LC's, LC and PP, PW and PP, PF and BP, TH and SS. Combat squads. Turn 1, Khan and friends head for 'Cists, Librarian and friends head for sisters. 1 rhino gets shaken. 2 marines from Khan die. Hold. Librarian loses all friends and 1 wound. Turn 2, I flame very lightly w/ librarian, sisters flee. Vanguard arrives out of assault range. Sisters waste Khan and Librarian. Start attacking Vanguard. I surrender as I have 2 understrength combat squads holding an objective vs 2 exorcists, 16 sisters, 2 rhinos, IQ lord, and LR for 3-5 turns.

Anyone within 3″ is fearless. Enemy deploys 18″ away from flag. Was a 1000 point game vs sisters. He had an IQ lord w/ 2 crusaders, rest of retinue I forget (was never used), 2 sisters units w/ 2 flamers and faithful superior, 2 exorcists. I had Khan, Epistolary Librarian w/ Avenger and MOTA, as well as 2 tac squads w/ Missile Launcher, flamer, and power sword, and a vanguard w/ dual LC’s, LC and PP, PW and PP, PF and BP, TH and SS.
James used 2000pts of Necrons and I my Plague Marines. We used the Ambush mission in the new GW Mission Book. He scored 2 Kill Points(one of which was cause when my Defiler's battlecannon shot deviated on to one of my own Rhinos) and I scored 7 Kill Points. It was a very interesting battle.
Normally I get stomped by Necrons even with my current Nurgle force. Though James pointed out if I really wanted to hammer the Necrons I should have jumped into CC with the warriors with 1 attack and I2 it would have gave me the first strike.

I lost my last game monday night. We had started a new campaign and it was my first try at playing Tau. I have only been playing for almost a year my opponent was playing chaos deamons and has been playing for many years. It was fun and different but I got waxed. O well back to space wolves.

Hi Lord Blackhat! My last game was two Mondays ago at Other Realms Comics and Games in Honolulu Hawaii. I have been rebuilding my Sisters of Battle army, and played a 750 pt game against Gray Knights. I had 2 squads of 10 battle Sisters and 10 Seraphim led by a Canoness with a jump pack.

He had...well...I don't know, ha ha! I've never seen Gray Knights on the battle field before. 2 small squads of power armor, a brother captain, I think a chaplain, and a dreadnought...I -think-...

Well, I got wiped out! I didn't mechanize my army and ran on foot towards the objectives. I tried to pray for invulnerale saves as much as I could. I was running and too far away to double fire my Holy Bolters so picking 'Rending' didn't seem so important.

So, he held his ground and fired Psycanons and bolt rifles at me while I maneuvered. Even with the finest power armor in the Imperium, my little squads of sisters couldn't trade fire with gray knights for 6 turns, and we were slain and martyred, though we did take some knights and a dreadnought with us...

After the battle people advised me to take rhinos for all my squads and advance behind them until I could get into double tap bolter range. I've heard that before, but I hadn't any rhino models in my collection yet.

But even a losing game of 40K is loads of fun! I had a blast! If you ever drop by Hawaii, PM me and maybe we can get a game in!

I was having a city fight with my friend. I had the Imperial Guard. He had the Tau Empire. I got 1st strike. I did some damage to his force but, not too much. Then it was his turn. I killed a few of my infantry. A bout a dozen or so. Then I started round 2. It was a blood bath. I hit his army with 5 out of 6 blast templates. Killing most of his Infantry. Then cam the pie plates. Nailed him with 4 out of 4. Taking out his armor and more infantry. He surrendered the battlefield to me. All in all He was down to 20% of his force. I still had 90% of mine.
