How to make Necron Flayed ones and Immortals from Warriors.

aloha. Most know me from the Scenery forum , where I live, lurk and terrorize. I came up with a nifty idea to get around spending way too much money for pewter Models, while still fielding believable and good-looking models. Not sure if it’s been done already, but to me, it’s original! Two things my Necron army lacks, are Flayed Ones, and Immortals. Both of these are pure pewter lines and if anyone knows, these are some of the more expensive models in the necron Army.

This is a tutorial on how to make both of these types of Units from basic Warriors..
Yes, normal Necron Warriors. 12 Warriors and some scarabs are in this box. It will instead make 6 Flayed ones, and 6 Immortals!

First thing I did was find a box of these: Basic Necron Warriors.

So I cut one of these Necron Warriors out and set him up: Then I took the Knife to it. I cut the gun off from the one hand, and cut both legs from the pelvis:

This is how the pelvis normally sits on a model: So when I reattached it to the legs, I tilted it like this:

I glued the legs back on in an approaching pose, and since the spine was tilted forward, the head had to be tilted up, (to look forward). I cocked it to the side to give it a more inhuman, more creepy feel.

Now for this next step, you could use anything. Greenstuff, other minis, even basic sprue bits. The right hand/fist from the gun arm is there, but the left hand is molded to the gun. We need to make a replacement for the left hand.

For myself, I fell into a huge collection of terrible, unused Heroclix© figures.

So I found a model within the box and cut myself a nice left hand/fist. A bit of drilling and some superglue and our new Flayed One-to-be has a left hand!

Next step, I cut some basic plastic card. 40mm worked here, but I guess you could go thinner, but the 40mm give the “fingers” some strength from being handled and stuffed in foam.

Rinse and Repeat six times, You will have yourself 6 Flayed ones. Don’t forget to get some greenstuff and make the flayed skin on them!

Section 2. Now you have 6 warriors left, and 12 guns.. What can we do with that?
We can make 6 immortals is what!

Step one. Cut em free.

Next, grab that plasticard or thick card or whatever you want to simulate this part. I used .40mm plasticard. Cut yourself off a thin strip, maybe a 1/4 of an inch.

Make yourself two 1/4 inch squares from the card strip and then bend the two pieces like thus:

Glue those two strips on top of the warrior shoulderpads, and then move to the guns.
Take a solid arm/gun and one of the cut off guns from the new Flayed ones. Clip the one bottom-hanging pipe off the loose gun, then fit it atop the arm/gun combo.

Make sure you file/cut down the molded left hand on the loose gun (the one on top)The guns won’t fit together without removing this hand.
Once it’s together, it should look like this:

When completed, it should look like this:

That’s it! Rinse and repeat 6 times, with the remaining warriors and loose guns and you have yourself 6 Flayed ones and 6 Immortals. Plastic, cheap, and very WYSIWYG. Don’t forget the greenstuff layed over the Flayed Ones for the human skin. How to? That’s a different tutorial.

Sho’Nuff out.

  1. I’ve done more or less the same thing for a bunch of my flayed ones and immortals but I never thought about using plasticard for the claws. Thanks dude you’ve just saved me, with GW not doing parts anymore I would have been pretty stuffed for making more flayed ones.

    • … okay, why do you have 40 wraiths, and by builder scarabs do you mean tomb spyders????
for a start, how did you get your hands on 40 wraiths? are you sure you mean 40? not 4 or something?
secondly, why and how do yo have 155 tomb syders? (if you mean tomb syders, that is) why do you have so many when you can only field 3, max.
i’m slightly perplexed as to why you would bother getting so many wraiths and “builder scarabs” espesialy since they are over £10 each!
either you don’t know how to play and your loaded or you have made some errors.
also the 102 flayed ones and the 10 destroyer lords confuses me too… WHY!?

    • hi perry, i think the reason that you are losing so much is due to phase out. you aren’t fielding enough units with the necron special rule, eg. warriors, destroyers, immortals. and depending on high costing units to keep you army alive (such as the nightbringer). always have necrons (troops with the necron rule) they are key to the army and without enough of them you will die very quickly.
my advise to solve this problem is to buy a battle force (£50) and another box of warriors. this you not only allow you to have larger games but also vastly increase the amount of necrons that you have compared to other units.
always try to field double the amount of necron units than you have non-necron units.
      hopw i’ve helped ;)

  13. Good tutorial and some excellent looking models there sir. However, I think you could have gone into more detail with the immortals. After a quick google search, I found this post that really helps with the gauss blaster, although your shoulder plates are better.

  14. This is an increadible idea! This is pure genius! I'm a new necron player but i played chaos space marines and Salamanders prior to this. I'm a decent painter, but i love modeling figures. the flayed ones are awesome. and the imotals too; but some small details that would really put it over the top. on the immortals gun. 1 turn the blade on the end to turn outward. 2 cut the targeters off the top and bottom of the fire sponsons to bring the gun tubes closer. 3 if it wouldn't look to unnatural leave the top guns hand on and use that as the holding hand, to give it that big gun feeling, like the model.

The feelings you have regarding your dating partner may be shared effectively by selecting words tactfully. You can project instant confidence through that one action alone. He’s not bad-looking
in any way, however, it more than likely wasn’t his looks that they was concerned with.

  16. This sort of sales training has become highly effective as well
as in demand. GO Game missions focus in three
main areas. The optimist sees the rose rather than its thorns; the pessimist stares on the thorns, oblivious to the rose.

The GO Game was conceived as a team building game and
may be active globally for more than three years with all-around 2000 games well as over 20,000 participants.
