If you’re a westerner then it’s a matter of cultural heritage.
Regardless of your personal stance on matters of faith and religion this is a time of giving and generosity. A time set aside to feel good despite the bitter cold outside the window.
Or, if the southern hemisphere’s your home, to break out the BBQ for some Christmas burgers!
No matter what you’re doing, we’re all doing it to celebrate and commemorate the gifts given by wise men and shepherds to the family of Jesus. It’s well worth breaking out Luke 2 and reminding yourself of the ultimate “from lowly beginnings” story.
Regardless of whether or not you believe the story to be true I think it’s important that we take time out to review it. The story which details the birth of perhaps the most influential figure in recorded history.

Happy Christmas, one and all.
