Necron Reanimation Protocols: My Thoughts

Necron Reanimation Protocols: My Thoughts

You’ll notice this another Necron post on my Space Wolves blog. Tough luck! Get over it I’m always excited by a new codex whatever the army is! It seems the internets are too so I’m just giving the people what they want! One of the main sticking points for people regarding the changes from previous codex was that RP is now 5+. The other problem is that the warriors have a 4+ save. However, I personally think that the warriors are better for it. Coming in at just 13 points a model I think you’re getting a good deal. The only problem I have with them is I2 but that’s another story and something I can sympathise with when I use my Tau! Having 4+ followed by 5+ (which you can do a few times per turn) is almost as good as 3+ anyway! Anyway, back to RP. The big change for this new codex is that you can perform the RP roll after each phase. This means that if you lose any models to dangerous terrain in your movement phase you can attempt to get them back. If your opponent shoots a couple you can get them back before the assault. The only

The Jokers are Going Once, Going Twice, SOLD!

Sergeant Berg Barnes, aka “The Marlboro Man” That’s right, folks, the Hambali 501st Regiment is up for grabs. Click here to check out the eBay auction . Today is the last day of bidding. Yesterday I posted a whole bunch of pics of the tanks. I played heavy-mech and towards the end started to play a bit more balanced lists with more infantry. So today I’m going to focus on the infantry units and their rides. There are four veteran squads. Each squad has three special weapons and a missile launcher team. There are enough models to drop the missile launcher team and bring two guardsmen with lasguns instead. The back hatch of each Chimera has some inspiring

Discussion: Sorting out the CSM codex part II

Discussion: Sorting out the CSM codex part II

Before moving onto this post here’s a link to the first part of this discussion linky . In a nutshell that post establishes what CSM need core army rules and icons to make them better. Stubborn was given as a army special rule along with combat squads and the marks/icons were given universal special rules. With that all sorted it’s time to move onto the units themselves. Troops The troops are a core of every single army and you must take a minimum of two units along with a HQ for a legal army. Seems that troops make up the bulk of a army it’s best to look at these units first. Chaos Space Marines The Aspiring Champion cost is way too high, this needs to be 10 points and 10 points for every single unit. The Champion should have access to all the wargear currently but also a thunder hammer, lightning claw and

News: More Sisters of Battle rumours

News: More Sisters of Battle rumours

Found these on the forums: A few sisters of battle Tidbits. Some info about the sister’s codex coming out this fall: The Sisters of Battle codex is taking a step away from the old codex’s focus on the Inquisition, and is now more of a codex focused on the Ecclesiarchy. The codex will represent the sisters much more truly to their roots in the fluff, and the non sister codex allies have been changed accordingly. More than many codexes’, the new Codex for sisters really feels like a brand new Codex. Ok, so let’s start with the sisters themselves. Redone in plastic, the sisters look great. While they won’t look out of place with the sisters of the past, they look much more like members of the church, though the over all look of the armor is very similar, if more ornate. The box set comes with enough plastic to make five sisters, but while we are only getting five girls per box, we are gaining a host of new options. The box contains bits to configure them as either regular sisters or Seraphim, and has tons of cool little extra bits to really make each unit unique. Gone are the Inquisition =I=’s, usually replaced with the fleur-de-lis.

Hobby – Project Primarch: Fulgrim

Hobby – Project Primarch: Fulgrim

Wouldn’t it be ace if the Primarchs as they are now would play a more defined role in 40k instead of just “hiding in the Eye of Terror” gig. The only Primarch to be seen really since the Heresy was Angron. All the others are hiding, dead, or in stasis. Well I think it’s time to open the door and let these characters in and go down the path of “what if” the Primarchs come out to play! First on the list is the cool bad guy; Fulgrim. But before moving onto creating Fulgrim it is best to look at the existing rules for the only Primarch in 40k; Angron. Angron is: WS: 10

Tactica: Why Sanguinary Priests DO NOT belong in combat

Tactica: Why Sanguinary Priests DO NOT belong in combat

The legions of the undead sillyness have arisen on Dakka and keep telling me how awesome it is to give a Priest a power weapon and send him into combat ho ho ho, I need to rebunk them with there foolish ways… Looking at the Priest he is 50 points is a I.C and has WS5 which isn’t too shabby add in 2 attacks base along with bolt pistol and chainsword means he will get 4 attacks on the charge basically making him a WS5 Space Marine Sgt not too shabby at all. Add in that the Priest gives furious charge making him and anyone within 6″ S5 I5 and they also get feel no pain, even nicer. See the Priest is a booster unit making all units within 6″ hit harder and giving them longer lasting life with feel no pain all for 50 points. For a Assault Army these are two awesome benefits becoming better in combat by striking mostly first and harder and being able to take a punch or two back (if the unit survives) even better! So if he’s prett decent in combat then why not give him a power weapon and throw in into combat? If you add a power weapon to a Priest this makes him 75 points, the Priest is costing more to do the same job – feel no pain and furious charge so already the Priest is costing more with zero benefits at the moment. As the Priest is such a awesome benefical unit to Blood Angel armies he becomes high on the opponents hit list, without feel no pain those Angels die quicker. The only way really a opponent can kill a Priest is in combat. Sure can blast the unit to pieces but no monkey is going to put wounds on the Priest and with feel no pain that squad the Priest is with can last a great deal time longer.
