Hey guys! So just a quick post today! My girlfriend was in town this weekend, so I didn’t get a lot of painting done (though we did paint up a couple cultists, she’s a natural!). BUT! That doesn’t mean I haven’t been working my butt off on other projects! Lets jump in, shall we? First up is a Loremaster of Hoeth. The client had already assembled the piece, so it was just a matter of priming and painting! Lots of fun, I opted for metallics, rather than the NMM I’d done a lot of his pieces in. The orb probably could have benefitted from some OSL, but with time and financial constraints, I opted for a quicker effect on it. The other piece was a High Elf Battle Standard Bearer. Lots of fun on this piece, I've really grown to enjoy painting the sculpted banners GW has been doing lately.
Just a quick post to reiterate that the fimir are still very much in progress, in case anyone was worried what with all the genestealer cult talk lately… At the moment I’m just finishing the last of the half dead. I have some basing to finish, and then they’re done! I’m very happy with them, and I’m looking forward to popping their cherry on the tabletop. Just hitting the painting table are the first of the marlwyrm monstrous cavalry. I’m considering how to paint the shields of the fimir riders. Some of the results of the verdigris effects I tried on the half dead should work great on the detail on the shields, which are from Scibor. I also have some drool techniques using various plastic glues to test before I apply them to the maw of the wyrms. Fun times!
Good Afternoon Ladies & Gents, We just wanted to make a quick post and send a SHOUT-OUT to Bill & Dawson of the Imperial Voxcast
Greetings all! Just a quick post to kick off the first collaboration project that I’ve participated in. Colonel Scipio of the rather excellent Palladian Guard blog recently posted about doing collaborative projects with other bloggers , and it definitely captured my interest. The idea is to do a miniature exchange project wherein we would each paint a unit in our personal army’s colors and second them to the other person’s army. We emailed back and forth a bit to discuss some ideas and we settled on Colonel Scipio painting a unit of Palladian Veterans that had been left behind/seconded to the Mordian 7th following a combined action, and me painting up a unit of Thargadd’s Thumpers, the mercenary Ogryn unit that is a mainstay of the glorious 7th – not to mention that it would be amusing for the models coming from the Yank to be a unit of loud, obnoxious, violent cretins! 🙂 Since we’re on opposite sides of the pond, we decided it would make the most sense if we sourced the models locally. I’ve wanted to paint up a unit of the new Ogryns for a long time, so this was a perfect opportunity for me! Sadly part of the plan was to incorporate the Nork Deddog model into the unit, but to my surprise the new Ogryns are noticeably larger than the old ones, and the Nork model looked rather weedy in comparison. I wanted to add a bit more character to the unit, seeing as they are a bunch of mercenaries I thought a few extra trophies, gear and weapons wouldn’t go amiss. Sergeant Thargadd was given a back banner during his time with the Mordian 7th regiment, and I thought it would be amusing to have it be naught but a tattered rag after the period of hard campaigning. We’re supposed to be getting snow and cold weather for an extended period starting tomorrow, but as it’s supposed to be relatively warm today I’m really hoping I can get these guys primered!
Hey guys! Just a quick post today to let you know I am still alive and well. Haven’t done much 40k-wise these last couples of months but tournament season is upon us so I am getting ready for another fall/winter full of gaming. This season is going to be Necrons for me! My good friend Manos will let me use his models for games/tournamets etc. but I will have to get them painted first.
Just a quick post to say I got an email from Total Wargamer saying they’re doing the Necron second wave with 25% off. Take a look . This is a bit premature of them since GW havent even announced them yet! Of course we all know they’re coming thanks to Beasts of War leaking White Dwarf again. Theres more details at Faeit212 . Sadly Matt sold his Necrons so I won’t be seeing them on a table near me anytime soon. Also I’m now away for 2 weeks. Hopefully I’ll get round to scheduling some stuff before I go but no promises.
Hey guys, Just a quick post! The Necron Scarabs didn’t sell this time, so I figured I’d drop the price and relist them! These are some professionally done pieces, and will look great in ANY Necron force! Don’t let these get away! Here’s the link to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290687687967?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649#ht_500wt_1413 Currently working on some Orange Crush Chaos Terminators right now, hoping to have everything done on Sunday so I can focus on Imperial Fists! Hey guys, Just a quick post today. I’ll be playing a couple games with my IG today, as my CSM are out of commission on account of me being impatient with my resin bases! So I’ll probably stick with my 1k point games, I have more fun there I think. Anyways, I sat down and finished Karazmov. First off, for those of you who hate Finecast, imagine doing this guy in metal. ‘Nuff said. I went for a chromatic scheme, with Karazmov in red, the scribe in blue, and the servitor in purple. Lots of scrollwork, lots of little intricate details. But I think he turned out splendidly! Next up, Eldar, Chaos Marines, and Imperial Fists! Granesh
