Meandering around the local gardening hardware store, I came across some ingredients to help with basing that I wanted to share with you.
Ho-hummm! No worries, ladies and gentlemen – I am still alive. Just been busy with live and a super- secret -project-which-I-will-reveal-to-you-in-a-second-or-two.. Let me just tell you what I’ve been doing/working on lately, then.. The battle reports from the Gentleman's Grand Tournament will continue. I have the second game 40% done, but typing my opponent's I.G list is seriously too daunting a task and I'm too lazy to scan it, even though the scanner is 2 feet away from me.
In Part I of this series I discussed the inherent “problems” with the traditional tournament. In Part II I described what shouldn’t be part of the alternative tournament. Today I’ll discuss the nitty, gritty details of what the alternative tournament should look like and how it should be organized. For this example, we will use a five game, two day tournament. We’re not going to use battle points, the same list, and they won’t all be standard missions (or standard missions with twists)
Yesterday I discussed the differences between “competitive”, tournament players and non-competitive, hobby-style players . To put this article in proper context, please read Part I. The typical tournament has the goal of finding the best player. Most tournaments separate this out into a couple of different categories, such as Overall Best Player, Best General, Codex Dominations, etc. When you have vendors providing prize support and lots of goodies, you need a way to determine who gets the most loot
