Recently, while browsing a railway modeling forum I discovered a German terrain supplies manufacturer: Vampisol . The site is in German only so I’ll try my best to provide translations in the following to help any interested non-German to find their way around there. In the ” Spur 0 ” range (see: O Scale ) there are two sections with great products for 28mm wargamers: ” Kopfsteinpflaster ” (cobblestones) and ” Mauerplatten ” (stonework). Let’s look at the cobblestones first: Cobblestone Streets “Segmentbogenpflasterplatte” (V3050), cobblestone street with segmental arch pattern “Anschlußstück, Kreuzungsbauteil Segmentbogenpflaster” (V3054), connection/crossing piece for the segmental arch streets There are two types of cobblestone patterns available: Segmental arch pattern (depicted above) Stretcher bond pattern (see below) [ Wikipedia ] For both patterns there are supplemental products available such as kerbs (“Randsteine”), the segmental arch connection piece and a sidewalk. “Pflasterplatte Großformat Reihenverband” (V3056), stretcher bond cobblestone street (two pieces shown) The segmental arch cobbles pieces measure 124mm x 131mm and cost €4,50. The stretcher bond pieces measure 124mm x 70mm and cost €3,00 a piece. There is a super useful street planner PDF file available that allows you to get a proper impression of the cobblestone pieces’ sizes. This was very helpful and I wish every terrain manufacturer would offer similar guides for their products.

Sometimes I would lose my head if it were not attached. lol Here are 10 cowboy miniatures I painted for Carl from the Independent Characters. I am really pleased with the way the turned out. They are Black Scorpion miniatures and were a joy to paint!

Wow, just as I was finishing my Black Scorpion miniature for the contest, my Maelstrom miniatures Cynuise of Old, Barrow Knight Banner Bearer arrived at my mail box. Gosh, this year is gonna be a year for many other make and brands of miniatures coming to my collection and painting. With the GW embargo, just as I wanted to get a Vampire Count Wright Standard Bearer, I turned to the option of others. The closest I could find was Maelstrom new line of miniatures Banelegions. I ordered the Cynuise of Old, Barrow Knight Banner Bearer to be field as my Vampire Count Standard Bearer. Meantime, here’s my first impression. On Maelstrom store, the picture for the Cynuise of Old, Barrow Knight Banner Bearer does not reveal much details for the skeleton warrior. When I decided to order it, I wasn’t really expecting much of the details thought, but I was more interested in the banner, where I could freehand my Vampire icons… Out of the package, I was surprised that the Barrow Knight Banner Bearer comes in resin. All the while I was having the impression that the Banelegions miniatures are in the usual metal ones. Then the observation comes in, I noticed the details on the armour of the skeleton warrior.

I was hoping to finish my Grey Knights Purifiers over the weekend, but things got delayed and they are still not done. Arghh. I just started my US Marines miniature from Black Scorpion just now, deadline is next week, gonna have to finish by the week days this week. Then after probably will try, or rather must complete my Grey Knights Purifiers. Just as my interest and mood got into the modern-day US marines soldiers, another brand of miniatures, Eureka Miniatures released some new US Seals miniatures. Gosh they are good-looking, and the details on the carbine rifle really enticed me a lot. Looks like I am really tempted, once my Black Scorpion – Marines are done, these will be my next modern marines soldiers to paint. Oh no, the USMC Force Recons are so amazing as well. Check out more pictures at Eureka Miniatures Gallery , the Afghan Guerrillas are amazing as well… Oh no…! Cheers!
