Anyone playing Horus Heresy games wants to know when the next Forge World book is coming out and when THEIR favorite Legion gets a book! Seminar # 4 – The Books One of the most important seminars of the weekend, the Forge World crew, lead by Alan Bligh, told us everything we really needed to know! The Horus Heresy Book Two What’s in the book:
The last several codices have brought a power change to 6th ed; all of them are well balanced and do not scream face stomping. The several previous codices were a different bunch of animals; Grey Knights, Space Wolves, Blood Angels (back in 5th) and even Necrons. What I want to determine is what is best for the game, super powerful codices like ones we have had in the past or nice and neat balanced books? Super Powerful blow yo face off The powerful codices come as a continuous stream through out 5th ed. If I remember right the Imperial Guard kicked off the power band – Vendettas for 130 points, Manticores dropping multiple blasts, multi special weapon Veterans and a whole lot of other things. Space Wolves followed with their Long Fangs, cheap Grey Hunters and Rune Priests with mega powers. Then was the Blood Angel codex which brought cheap fast Razorbacks, fast Vindicators, feel no pain and furious charge bubble. Here is where it gets interesting; Dark Eldar were after Blood Angels and I know they can be pretty powerful with their billion poison shots and mega lance fire, but Dark Eldar are weak and anything can take them down. So while they are excellent at shooting I would say they are not as powerful as the others due to their survivability. I know I.G are weak, but their mass of tanks are not
I’ve been spending some time clearing out some detritus from the Closet of Doom and getting things organized. My buddy Dave over at Ex Fide Vivo recently finished up his Blood Angels army and took some army shots so I thought I’d follow suit, and see what exactly remains to be finished for the glorious 7th! There’s a bunch of ‘em! As I finish various units I tend to just pack them away in battlefoam trays and store them in the CoD, so it usually comes as a surprise to see how much there is once it’s all laid out on the table. Of course, the Leviathan taking up so much space does feel a little like cheating. Heh.
The Games Workshop Memphis Battle Bunker had one amazing table of Cityfight terrain.
As the placings were read out for game two I found myself on table 5 (I’d actually started on table 1) but unfortunately I was paired up with Chris again. The ref swapped us with the guys on the next table. I was pleased to see that I got James Clulow’s Blood Angels instead of the GK that Matt had beaten in game 1. With the tournament missions now running in reverse we’d be playing the dodgy “Escort” mission . The referee ruled that all of the shenanigans were now allowed again but the “Escort” couldn’t leave the table until turn 3. Anyway, James’ Blood Angels consisted of Tycho (his “Escort”) with 5 sternguard in a razorback, two tactical squads (one in a Pod, the other in a Rhino), 10 assault marines, 5 devastators with a razorback, an Aegis line and another bloody vindicator. Again my list can be found here . Battle Report There’d be no night fighting and despite not choosing sides, I won the roll off for first turn. I deployed in a fairly standard way with long fangs in cover and grey hunters/TWC on the left flank.
I'm looking for some help for my Blood Angels jumper army.
Hey guys! Whoo, just missed the midnight mark on the post! Oh well, probably better it drops on Wednesday! So I finally sat down and put the finishing touches on the Imperial Strongpoint commission for my favorite Australian client! I didn’t realize just how much Aegis Defence Line this kit came with! Lets jump right into pictures! Get through this! Women of Ivanka Coteaz’ platoon hold down the defence lines. Opted for two different color schemes; one red, one blue. It stays cohesive, yet helps identify the two different buildings for, say, Planetstrike. Just a little graffiti, this is more of a snow scheme than anything. Alpha Legionnaires lead their traitorous kin against the forces of the Imperium. Shes just goading them on now! Secondly, this model has been done for a while, I just needed to do some pictures of him. I recently was contacted by a gentleman in Italy interested in my last Abaddon model. Unfortunately for him, the last one had sold a while ago. As soon as I showed him part deux, he fell in love with the model. So here’s some final shots of Abaddon before he ends up in Europe! Abaddon the Despoiler, the Thrice-Cursed, the Arch-fiend.
