So far the year 2011 has been a year of many great releases when it comes to our great hobby. Games Workshop released not one, not two but three great Fantasy hardcover army books accompanied by gorgeous models.Yes, there have been a few flukes *cough*Grey Knights*cough*, but when you look at the Tomb Kings, Orcs and Goblins and Ogre Kingdoms book you can even disregard the ever-increasing prices and the embargo.. Plus there’s more to come. In a similar fashion, Black Library also released some awesome books from the Horus Heresy and the book that every Space Wolf player should read – Battle of the Fang ! But I don’t think I’ve been as excited for a Warhammer 40,000-related product as I currently am for the brand spankin’ new Hive of the Dead gamebook by C. Z. Dunn. At least not this year. Adventure? The forces of Chaos are moving against the Imperium once more, and only YOU can stop them! The first in a new series of Warhammer 40,000 adventure game books , Hive of the Dead casts you in the role of an Imperial Guardsman, fighting for survival upon the plague-ridden world of Subiaco Diablo at the beginning of the Thirteenth Black Crusade. First of all – Vostroyans are incredibly cool. Even though they are.. you know.. I.G. Which reminds me that I haven’t shared with you one of my failed projects. Alas.. Here’s the story of the.. The Bulgarian Opalchentsi of Shipka Shortly after the Adepticon Team Tournament of 2010 I really, really needed a break from my Orkz and wanted to start a new army. It had to be something special and it definitely needed to be a long-term commitment, supposed to commemorate and show-off the skills I had learned in my first year of hobbying.

Hey there. Super excited to share some pictures with you guys. Today I finished painting two Grot Tanks for a friend’s birthday gift and it felt really good not having to paint space marines, power armor, fur or anything Space Wolves related. I know, I know, this blog is “Wolves for the Wolf God” after all, but even the greatest Wolf Lord of them all needs to kick back and let some servitors give him a foot rub, right? “Oi, wut is dat flashy fing??” Jack’s birthday is today, so me and a few guys from the store decided to surprise him with a painted squad of Forgeworld’s Grot Tanks ! Now, the reason we decided to give him Grot Tanks was pretty self-explanatory: Jack loves his shooty metal coffins. A lot. He even rides in one from time to time, pretending to be a German officer or something. Very surprised he doesn’t play Flames of War..
