Hi everyone, As I mention briefly at the end of my last blog, I am embarking on a new wargame army project, even though I have not finished my other two armies, that is Space Wolves and my 15mm Dwarves.
I have treated myself to a little Christmas gift: from me to me! I ordered the ” Kurganova boxed set ” from a sweet little French company called “Raging Heroes”. This is a set of three mock- Imperial guard commissars
One of Ben’s “Helm” paintings. Hey everyone, hope you had a fine festive season etc. I just thought I’d show my readers a blog that belongs to a good friend of mine.
A new Chaos Space Marine novel by John French is being released as an enovel 6 months before the print version. THE STORY All is dust… Spurned by his former brothers and his father Magnus the Red, Ahriman is a wanderer, a sorcerer of Tzeentch whose actions condemned an entire Legion to an eternity of damnation. Once a vaunted servant of the Thousand Sons, he is now an outcast, a renegade who resides in the Eye of Terror. Ever scheming, he plots his return to power and the destruction of his enemies, an architect of fate and master of the warp. John French on Ahriman: Exile When I got the green light to write Ahriman: Exile , I had two, quite opposite reactions in the space of about twenty seconds. ‘Oh wow, I get to write about Ahriman. He’s one of Warhammer 40,000’s most pivotal characters. The sorcerer who literally made the Thousands Sons what they now are, and who one day will try and break into the Black Library itself.’ Swiftly followed by: ‘Oh my. I’m writing Ahriman
I've been playing this game for three weeks now and its become seriously addictive, far too much fun and far too easy to play. Like a FPS but with tanks.
The new French White Dwarf shows us what to expect for the 40K 25th Anniversary miniature from Games Workshop. Translation: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Rogue Trader, which forever changed the face of miniature wargaming, we’re immortalizing in Citadel Finecast the very first star of Warhammer 40k. The evocative illustration from the cover of Rogue Trader leaves no doubt; in the far future there is only war. In the center of the immage a Crimson Fist captain holds an Ork’s head. Juan Diaz has sculpted a miniature based on this Space Marine captain, brandishing his grisly trophy in his power fist, a plasma pistol in his other hand. The kit includes a display base with the proud Crimson Fist standardin in the background. Alternatively you can use a regular base so that the captain can lead a squad of Crimson Fists into the heart of battle.
Got a couple of juicy and a few very suspect rumors for you this week. To start things off I have heard from an either very reliable or completely hokey source that we will be seeing BOTH Necrons and Sisters of Battle this year. This supposedly comes from the guy who leaked the Italian or French Dark Eldar Codex online. This fits in pretty well with what we predicted back in January . Another Sisters rumor popped up over at Dakka – Our GW store manager leaked a few things about what is being planned. Not what there will be. Firstly there are plans for it to be in White Dwarf and Downloadable like the old BA PDF. It will be Sisters of Battle, The Church/Ecclsiarchy and a large amount of Inquisition.
Having decided to move on to some Chaos Knights, I decided to peruse the collection painted so far to try to remember how I was painting them (I never have been smart enough to write the steps down). I was quite disappointed when I cast my eye over my Khorne Warriors and the solitary Knight that I had started last nearly a year ago. The painting, by the standards I am currently painting to was rubbish. Lots of flat and uninviting colours, and the bases looked quite shabby.
