Tomb Kings Prince Apophas
Hi all Here is my
Games Workshop has released its first game on mobile devices.
BoLS reports that Games Workshop is getting rid of their Specialist Games range. This means the demise of the game systems Battlefleet Gothic, Epic Armageddon, Inquisitor, Necromunda, Warmaster and – most importantly to me – Mordheim. I don’t play Mordheim actively right now, but this does make me sad nonetheless. I have never really been a fan of playing with huge armies and even though I loved my beastman miniatures I would have quit the hobby had Games Workshop not released their skirmish game set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe. To me Mordheim embodies most of what is ‘tabletop’, simply because I had been so dedicated to that system in the past years. The involvement with the Nemesis Crown supplement and more so the development and release of the fan-made Border Town Burning supplement for Mordheim has had a huge impact on my “hobby life”. Countless inspiring discussions with Stu “Werekin” (of the Liber Malefic blog), being part of an awesome community as a moderator at Tom’s and the Yahoo group , and – most importantly – playing this game with friends! Of course, the game isn’t just going to disappear from my head: Like with any board game I like, I have what is needed to play the game. The thing is, as a wargamer you’re used to having a company support their games and continuously breathing fresh air into them. Being a fan of Legends of the High Seas (based on ‘Legends of the Old West’ based on both ‘Lord of the Rings’ and – ta daah! – Mordheim) I had to mourn the death of Warhammer Historical.
If you don’t know by now, The Lord Inquisitor is an amazing CGI animation project that is fan run and has the blessing of Games Workshop. This is the latest video from Erasmus, the project creator, and there is some good stuff here.
Games Workshop is getting rid of all non-core games. GW is cutting all metal production as they switch over to fine cast, and have let it be known that once stocks of Epic, BFG, Necromunda, Warmaster, Mordheim and Inquisitor run out, then they are gone for good. Multiple people have confirmed this with GW’s Customer Service and warehouse staff. Collectors Range It has also been confirmed that the Fantasy and 40k Collectors ranges have been discontinued and once stock runs out they will no longer be available.

Hey guys! This is probably the worst gap in posts I’ve ever had! Not good! I’ve been super busy the last two weeks though, and now that I’m past everything, its nice to be finished. Lets recap, shall we? Over the last two weeks, I’ve: Completed my senior year of college Graduated college with a Bachelors of Art in Art Moved apartments in town and set up my studio again Got everything ready to go to Egypt in May I haven’t really posted about it yet, but Smells Like Wargaming will be on hiatus from May 13th to May 31st, as I will be in Egypt, studying the Arab Spring and visiting many of the ancient sites as a graduation present from my parents. Most of my clients have already been informed, and any new emails will be handled when I return. Going back though, it’s a great feeling to finally be graduated from college. I’ve got a lot more free-time now, which means more time for Smells Like Wargaming and more hours at the shop, which, in turn, allows me to pursue more vigorous and challenging projects. I’ve already got plans to finish my Chaos Space Marines for Tacticon in September, and I’ve got two other armies sitting on my shelf that need to get painted. Speaking of painted armies, I picked up a box of Gretchin with some Graduation money I received, as it looks like I’m now painting that Ork army I’ve had sitting around for a bit. Love the grots, they’re easily my favorite unit in the Ork codex! I’ve always been a fan of goblins in fantasy and sci-fi settings. My primary Magic deck is Goblins, grots are just hilarious, and anything goblin-related is just cool to me
So what is the legal fallout from the Faeit212 take-down?
Last night blogs Faeit 212 and Bell of Lost Souls went down. Both are powered by Blogger and at first this was believed to be an Blogger issue, however since then more has come to light when Faeit 212 was issued one of these:
