Giving Daemons a whirl against Rich and his Tyranids. I have switched out the Flesh Hounds, Heralds of Tzeentch and Plaguebearers along with a unit of Pink Horrors for Seekers, Heralds of Slaanesh and mastery level 1 on each Daemon Prince Chaos Daemons – 2,000 points HQ Bloodthirster – 2 x greater rewards (blade of blood & dark blessing) & 1 x lesser reward (something cack) Daemon Prince – daemonic flight, warp forged armour, 2 x greater rewards (corpulescence & lash of despair) & mastery level 1 (endurance) Daemon Prince – daemonic flight, warp forged armour, 2 x greater rewards (dark blessing & lash of despair)
Managed to get a bit of brush time in over the last couple days, and I’ve started the process by casting my eye over the primered minis waiting patiently on the ‘to-be-painted’ shelves. I’ve felt as though I’d been neglecting the Guard a bit, so I dusted off a unit of Penitents that I’d ordered from Victoria Lamb nearly 6 months ago and got stuck in! Absolutely lovely miniatures, they’re a good mix of poses and the lasrifles really look neat. The selection of heads is great as well, there’s some really well done sculpts. I especially like the bomb collars, and the one guy with the Hannibal Lecter mask. I went with the standard hazard orange jumpsuits, and gave the sergeant the ‘standard’ dark blue fatigues that the rest of the Mordian 7th wears. Easy peasy! Another nice touch on the rear torsos are number plates for identification of each penitent (numbers written in with a 0.05 micron pen), and a few of them bear evidence of a recent whipping, which is a nice touch. All in all I’m really rather pleased with how this unit turned out, and am looking forward to trying them out on the table.
Double testing of new lists tonight; I am using a Ravenwing list as I fancy a biker army and Rich is testing a modified Tyranid list. Should be fun! Dark Angels ‘Ravenwing’ – 2,000 points HQ Sammael Ravenwing Command Squad – banner of devastation & apothecary Librarian – bike, auspex & infravisor Troops 5 x Ravenwing Bikers w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Sgt w/ melta bombs – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Bikers w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Sgt w/ melta bombs – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Bikers w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Sgt w/ melta bombs – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Bikers w/ Attack Bike – 2 x plasma guns
I held off on making my preferred choice on an allied detachment until the Daemons codex came out. Let me be honest, I have not looked over the Daemons’ codex thoroughly. I have gone through it all but trying to … Continue reading → The post Chaos Allies: Giving Imperial Guard a Go appeared first on Creative Twilight .
So, as part of the half-term holidays, I’ve been getting in some serious hobby time with my lad. I had promised him that we’d build one of my guard vehicles but when we dug it out, it appears that the floor is missing from the sprue. I know it’s a long shot, but do any of you guys got a spare old school chimera floor that you wouldn’t mind selling? If not, if anyone can give me the dimensions etc so I can attempt to reconstruct it out of plasticard please. Thanks in advance guys Col
