Hey folks So after my brief intro I want to talk about my Eldar list and ideas. After playing around with a pure Eldar list I decided to add allies, that take them to the next level, whether it be Tau or Dark Eldar I am loving it. I have two lists adding in Tau or D.E which both have a lot of shooting well the Tau has a lot of shooting but the D.E has a Harli star with Vect using all that shenanigans. If you agree with it or not there is a case for both outcomes. I want to put the Eldar/D.E list up today So the list is :- HQ’s Eldrad Farseer -

Last month I took part in the NAG 2012 Ard Boyz tournament using an all Terminator Space Wolf list. I was putting together an army of chaos terminator minis specially for this and luckily there was no painted requirement so I was able to get by with a largely WIP army! The army did really well and I finished in 2nd place overall! The 1750pt list I took was: Logan Grimnar 10 Wolf Guard Terminators 2 w/ Combi-Meltas & Power Weapons 2 w/ Cyclone Missile Launchers, Storm Bolters & Power Weapons 6 w/ Storm Bolters & Power Weapons (Logan joins this squad negating the need for a Powerfist here) 10 Wolf Guard Terminators 2 w/ Combi-Meltas & Power Weapons 2 w/ Cyclone Missle Launchers, Storm Bolters & Power Weapons 5 w/ Storm Bolters & Power Weapons 1 w/ Storm Bolter & Powerfist 10 Wolf Guard Terminators 2 w/ Combi-Meltas & Power Weapons 2 w/ Cyclone Missle Launchers, Storm Bolters & Power Weapons 5 w/ Storm Bolters & Power Weapons 1 w/ Storm Bolter & Powerfist Lone Wolf Terminator w/ Chainfist & Storm Shield Lone Wolf Terminator w/ Chainfist & Storm Shield Lone Wolf Terminator w/ Chainfist & Storm Shield The general theme for the list in games was to use the Lone Wolves as a fire-magnet to cover the advance of the large terminator squads. Pointing them at valuable vehicles and forcing the enemy to engage them somehow sparing the squads unwanted attention as they moved into position to carry out the mission objectives. With the Cyclone Missile Launchers there was plenty of range to be able to sit back as required and with so many power weapons & counter-attack getting dragged into assaults was never a real concern. Something to not be underestimated is the psychological impact of quite so many Terminators being deployed across the table and then the Lone Wolves did an exceptionally good job of passing their saves and Feel No Pain rolls to really add make it feel like an uphill struggle to make a dent on the army. The tournament used special non-rulebook scenarios throughout which provided a fun and different challenge to the norm. The scoring system was as follows: Scoring Base battle points should be determined by the chart below. Result

Yesterday I posted up a battle report of my Space Wolves first game against Matt’s Necrons. I wanted to dedicate a full post to talking about my thoughts on the new codex. Bear in mind we only played one game and obviously not all the units from the new codex were used. There were a couple of stand out units in there and others that weren’t as good as expected. General Necrons The main problem this army isn’t going to have is it’s I2. Against most armies that means it’ll fold in combat. My thoughts on this are that it’s just the same for Imperial Guard or Tau. I think its a good thing that the troops are a lot cheaper (obviously good for GW as well) but it means we’ll be able to see much bigger armies than we did before. The basic warriors and immortals are still excellent units and as much as people whine about it I think the larger numbers of them on the table will mean a lot more glancing hits! It was glancing hits that did my land raider in and I'd be cautious about moving it in to close to a squad of warriors now. The flayed ones are pretty weak.

After winning 4 and losing 5 of the 9 games on Saturday I found myself in the bottom group for Sunday’s games. Tim’s brilliant pooling system had meant that I’d had some really enjoyable games and everyone was at the same level. Although I was far from proud to be in the bottom pool it did mean I’d have a shot of still coming away with some sort of prize. The group consisted of only 6 players (since there were 30 not the required 32 in attendance). The armies were Tau, 2x Necrons, Tyranids, an IG list (surprisingly) and myself. As I mentioned yesterday my first game was against Tau. Golden Spoon Game 1 – DE vs Tau Having lost so badly to Tau in the first game on Saturday I didn't exactly feel confident about winning. As I mentioned, my dark lances have been rolling as if I had BS 2 not 4 so I knew I'd struggle to deal with vehicles. Happily my opponent only had one devilfish full of fire warrriors, some sniper drones and two crisis suits.

Nothing says horde like banners! Round 1 of the Fall of Masuda Campaign saw Da Red Finga facing off against Archer’s Star Dragons 4th Company. The Big Mek Gog fought against Commander Marcus. I successfully rolled as the attacker and since I was attacking a Ruins territory, that meant the Blitzkrieg mission. Blitzkrieg deployment is table quarters with an objective in the center of the board and an objective in the center of the unoccupied quarters. Only Fast units can deploy and EVERY other unit comes in as reserves. If the player decides that their Fast units come in as reserve, then they can make their first reserve roll on turn one. Truthfully, I was concerned about this mission. I like deploying my boyz as far forward as possible and running across the board. Coming in as reserve didn’t sound appealing to me.
