BastardCon Lite – KnaveCon 1
Hey guys! So as I’m sure most of you are aware, today and tomorrow is our two day Warhammer Fantasy tournament Lost Souls 2013, run by our very own RTGamer! The event is in full swing, and we’ve had 12 players show up, most of them Fantasy players from the Denver area! Anyways, just figured I’d show off the finished tables, as well as the event in full swing! I’ll be taking more pictures over the course of the weekend and, being the painting judge for the event, should have results of the event posted tomorrow! I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years! It was quite nice to have a day off yesterday, and my friend Dave and I got in a game of 40k. I didn’t do a full battle report, but did snap a few pics here and there throughout the game. I wanted to try out a new 1850 variant I’m considering for Adepticon, and Dave ran his ever-frightening Blood Angel assault list. As a break from my usual heavy downtown urban themed table I went with a small starport sort of thing. I’d picked up a spaceship-looking kitbash model off of eBay recently and wanted to put it on the table to see if it would work. It’s a little large and blocked a bit too much of the line of sight across the table, so it’ll probably get regulated to Necromunda terrain. We ended up playing lengthwise across the table, which theoretically sounds good for my gunline guard, but as usual the marines were in their faces almost immediately. The Blood Angel’s Stormraven and the Mordian 7th’s Vendetta circled the table (and each other) merrily gunning down the troops and tanks below. The game itself was thoroughly bloody
Hey guys! So its been a week since I posted, but its been a busy week overall. Schoolwork stepped it up a notch last week, but I’ve been busy with some other things as well. Regardless, it all comes down to this point. My friends Ryan, Nate, and myself managed to raise $273 for the Children’s Miracle Hospital, so I just have to say thank you to everyone who supported us as we strove for our goal. Hey guys, So as you all know, the big chatter around the internet is the announced release of both the Thunderwolf Cavalry and many of the Tyranid creatures people had been waiting for. For those of you who haven’t seen her, here’s the new Tervigon: Valkyrie/Trygon/Dreadknight base? Oh yeah. It’s a big, lumbering beastie we’ve got here. So, I figured in response to this new kit, I’d give my Tervigon their last call before being consumed by the plastic wave. Tervigon #1 was built back in 2010, maybe three months after the new book had dropped. You can see the base is bigger than a regular Carnifex, and the concept of the birthing Gants are all in order. This guy was also featured on Games Workshop’s site in May of 2010.
As my readers will know, I've been painting various Planetary Empires and Mighty Empires tiles on-and-off for a long time now, with a variety of painting techniques and terrain styles implemented.
To start with – Holy cow, this is post #199! I’ll have to think up something cool for 200… A little bit of brush time allowed me to finish off the Land Raider and Rhino that I’ve been working on for the Thousand Sons, as well as getting the Predator almost caught up.
I am proud of the Hogs of War! We took eight individuals to Austin this year to compete in the 40k tournaments and overall I think we did an excellent job!
