My Two Sons: Experimental Thousand Sons #2
So I painted up a Son in the traditional yellow and blue and compared the two. I do like the classic yellow and blue scheme.

So I got a chance to page through the new codex(sadly didn't buy because my store ran out of copies) and man can I say there are some things there that are easily
I am back with another Ravenwing list and this time I have decided to keep it pure Dark Angels. I know Guard allies are good, but I just want to keep it all in one codex this time. Instead of doing the usual waffle of how and why I have chosen X unit, I am just going to make up the list and go from there: Dark Angels ‘Ravenwing’ – 2,000 points HQ Sammael Librarian – mastery level 2, bike & auspex Ravenwing Command Squad – standard of devastation & apothecary Troops 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x plasma guns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x plasma guns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x plasma guns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Tactical Marines – missile launcher Aegis Defence Line – quad gun Total: 1,999 Sammy and the Libby partner up with the RCS; this gives the squad more wounds as undoubtedly this squad will be target number 1. RCS has the devastation banner which allows all units within 12″ to re-roll failed morale tests and all units within 3″ to count their boltguns as salvo 2/4; extremely handy when bikes have twin-linked boltguns. It’s unlikely to happen, but a possibility, but if all bikes were in range of the banner then you’re talking round about 150 bolter shots! I have added the apothecary in to give the unit some extra staying power, though I think 30 points for a 5+ feel no pain roll is pretty damn expensive. I have given the Libby mastery level 2 as had points spare, though the invisibility power from the telepathy discipline is very nice, but it's a big 'if' you get it.
Hello Mark, Hope you’re well mate. I’m considering starting a Dark Eldar army and I’m not really sure where to start. I’ve never played with Dark Eldar and never played against them. However, I had a skim though the codex and picked out what I think could work well. From some of your previous posts I can see you’re a bit of a guru when it comes to this army. I was wondering if you would be able to take a look through the following list and give me a few pointers. Archon, agoniser, shadow field – 110 3 Trueborn, 3 blasters, venom w/splinter cannon- 146 3 Trueborn, 3 blasters, venom w/splinter cannon – 146 5 Kabalite warriors, blaster, venom w/splinter cannon – 125 5 Kabalite warriors, blaster, venom w/splinter cannon – 125 5 Kabalite warriors, blaster, venom w/splinter cannon – 125 10 Kabalite warriors, w/splinter cannon – 100 Aegis, with quad gun – 100 Beastmaster, 5 khymerae, 2 razorwings – 102 Beastmaster, 5 khymerae, 2 razorwings – 102 Ravager, dark lances – 105 Ravager, dark lances – 105 Ravager, dark lances – 105 I was going to include a razorwing or voidraven, but ravagers are so much better value for points in the heavy slot, so I thought of putting a quad gun instead. The archon would man the gun and sit in the backfield with the squad of 10 warriors.
After wrapping up my Cultists last week I figured I’d stick with troops for now on the painting front. I’ve had the other half of this squad painted for a while now and figured it was about time to get … Continue reading → The post Thor’s Workbench: WIP Chaos Marines appeared first on Creative Twilight .
My very favorite part of the hobby is building the models – I’ve been pretty good about painting the stuff I already have built recently and not adding to the pile of unpainted minis (much). Of course that all changed over this past weekend! I’ve often thought it would be fun to do a Dark Angels army over the years but I’d never taken the plunge – with the new release of the codex though, I jumped right in! As usual, I started off by saying “It’ll just be a little boutique army, I’ll keep it reasonable and relatively inexpensive.” NOTE: THAT NEVER WORKS OUT LIKE I PLANNED. After the dust cleared, and I started tallying up the units I’d bought it turns out that it’s going to be another 3500 point monster. Argh. So the next step was to narrow it down to what I’d theoretically be taking to Adepticon and just focus on working on those models for now (mostly). 1850 points doesn’t go nearly as far with the Dark Angels as it did with the guard, but that means I’m no longer on the hook to transport 100+ infantry and a half dozen vehicles. The first draft of the new list was centered around a Deathwing detachment, backed up by a few ‘vanilla’ Dark Angels squads and one of the Nephilim fighters for light air cover. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the finecast Belial released alongside the DA, so I figured I’d build one of my own using bits from the Deathwing terminators kit and some miscellaneous bits from the Closet of Doom.
Basing and final work on first squad of my Word Bearers army was completed last night.
While the models I plan on getting for my Word Bearers army are still not finalised I at least have gotten the fluff behind them all sorted now.
