Discussion: Awesomez players?

I get to play against quite a few people which is good. I play against 4 regulars and then whoever is at my gaming club. The opponents armies vary from well tuned lists to something just cobbled together, mostly the tuned lists are from the regular folk who I play was we get to talk more and sort lists out etc. The reason why the regular folk play more competitive lists is because we play each other more and see a strong list and want to beat it, so a competitive list is required. While at the club it’s just mostly regular armies. What my point is that on the internet everything is about competitive. When I post battle reports I get comments saying the opponents list was rubbish and on wonder I won etc etc but what the internet doesn’t realise is there is more 40k players out there who DON’T USE the internet to sort lists and tactics out etc. There’s actually only a small portion of 40k players who use the internet for 40k related stuff and then when people do they don’t always take to competitive comments etc. See 40k isn’t a competitive game.
Once again the crazyness on Dakka Dakka has reared its head, this time from a cool cat called StriderX who seems to taken to some offence when I said I found Tau disappointing, considering everything I had read about them on the internet. I wonder if he’s a fanboy and I’ve hurt his feelings? I guess some people just love their plastic toy soliders more than others. Here’s the link to the actual battle report battle report on dakka click at your own peril!
The legions of the undead sillyness have arisen on Dakka and keep telling me how awesome it is to give a Priest a power weapon and send him into combat ho ho ho, I need to rebunk them with there foolish ways… Looking at the Priest he is 50 points is a I.C and has WS5 which isn’t too shabby add in 2 attacks base along with bolt pistol and chainsword means he will get 4 attacks on the charge basically making him a WS5 Space Marine Sgt not too shabby at all. Add in that the Priest gives furious charge making him and anyone within 6″ S5 I5 and they also get feel no pain, even nicer. See the Priest is a booster unit making all units within 6″ hit harder and giving them longer lasting life with feel no pain all for 50 points. For a Assault Army these are two awesome benefits becoming better in combat by striking mostly first and harder and being able to take a punch or two back (if the unit survives) even better! So if he’s prett decent in combat then why not give him a power weapon and throw in into combat? If you add a power weapon to a Priest this makes him 75 points, the Priest is costing more to do the same job – feel no pain and furious charge so already the Priest is costing more with zero benefits at the moment. As the Priest is such a awesome benefical unit to Blood Angel armies he becomes high on the opponents hit list, without feel no pain those Angels die quicker. The only way really a opponent can kill a Priest is in combat. Sure can blast the unit to pieces but no monkey is going to put wounds on the Priest and with feel no pain that squad the Priest is with can last a great deal time longer.
