Thor’s Workbench: Chaos Terminator (Another One) – WIP

Thor’s Workbench: Chaos Terminator (Another One) – WIP

I had high hopes of getting this guy done this past weekend but that never came to fruition. Still, he’s nearing completion and as long as I have him done by Saturday I’m all set since a bunch of us are going to a tournament requiring painted models. At this… Read More The post Thor’s Workbench: Chaos Terminator (Another One) – WIP appeared first on Creative Twilight .

The Cult – Limos

The Cult – Limos

I’m still casting my eye about looking for various components for the Cult. Such little conversion gems as Empire flagellant and skaven plague monk parts have been brought to my attention, as well as Rackham and Heresy ghouls for use as hybrid base models. Today though, we turn our attention to the most definitive of Cult vehicles, the limo. Armoured limos and genestealer cults go arm in arm as far as I’m concerned. Even though limos are about as appropriate to 40k as hotpants on a space marine, I can’t imagine my cult not having one or two of these in the army. However. I do not think a shiny black car with bullet-proof windows would last awfully long in battle against terminators, stompas and such. To this end, I think some s mall concession to praticality is in order.

Thor’s Workbench: Obliterator (WIP) & Cultists

Thor’s Workbench: Obliterator (WIP) & Cultists

I mentioned in my previous workbench post about an Obliterator I had mostly complete. I took a few shots of him this morning to show. I just put on basing material before taking this shot so if you see snow on the model that’s why; I haven’t cleaned it up… Read More The post Thor’s Workbench: Obliterator (WIP) & Cultists appeared first on Creative Twilight .

Thor’s Workbench: Chaos Terminator (WIP)

Thor’s Workbench: Chaos Terminator (WIP)

In an effort to get models ready for an event at the end of this month, I started working on this Chaos Terminator. I did finish off the last Obliterator I needed but forgot to get a shot of him. This model is 99% done, I just have to go… Read More The post Thor’s Workbench: Chaos Terminator (WIP) appeared first on Creative Twilight .

Captain Sicarius of the Ultramarines

Captain Sicarius of the Ultramarines

With all the kickstarter excitement and work, I managed to steal some time to complete a single miniature commissioned miniature painting. He is none other than Captain Sicarius of the Space Marine. Though I don’t collect Space Marine, I still do enjoy painting Space Marines… that awesome feel and power and its a Space Marine! Captain Sicarius is made of GW’s finecast. With the last few commissioned Miniature Painting Service projects, I still feel that finecast is still not a perfect cast. There are always minor hole bubbles in the cast. Though some are minor which can be ignored, but those in obvious position will still need some green stuff patching. Well, if comparing to other makes of miniature, there are others which produces better quality. Captain Sicarius was painted as an Ultramarine as requested. The base blue was painted with Citadel Ultramarine blue, followed by a diluted wash of an old range of Citadel midnight blue

Hobby: Getting Back in the Saddle

Hobby: Getting Back in the Saddle

As mentioned lately, I’m finally getting through a funk I’ve been in lately with 40K. One thing that keeps getting to me, hobby-wise, is the daunting amount of painting I have left to do. I can put down an 1,850 … Continue reading → The post Hobby: Getting Back in the Saddle appeared first on Creative Twilight .

Fratris Salutem 2013: Thanks for the Awesome Day

Fratris Salutem 2013: Thanks for the Awesome Day

Sometime in the late fall of 2012 I had conceived an idea for what would become Fratris Salutem. It was a loose idea at that point; simply a concept of doing something very different from what we had done before, … Continue reading → The post Fratris Salutem 2013: Thanks for the Awesome Day appeared first on Creative Twilight .

Rok Da Vote: 40K 6th Edition Thoughts (Re-poll)

Back in July 2012 I put up a poll asking what everyone thought of 6th edition. It’s almost a year later (hard to believe!), and now that the dust has settled I want to see what people are thinking about … Continue reading → The post Rok Da Vote: 40K 6th Edition Thoughts (Re-poll) appeared first on Creative Twilight .
