Warp Rift #23

This month we will call it Warp Rift - The Battlefleet Limante Fanzine. A large part of this issue has been dedicated to the Limante sector and its battlefleet. It will provide you background, famous ships and captains, a special fleet list and a dedicated scenario. Next issue we will have a focus on the enemies of Limante.

Beside the GothiComp 2009 announcement the Showcase section brings you a lot of Tau. Self made Tau and conversions. Very nifty done by a German BFG player who unfortunatelly isn’t good at writing in English. You can contact me if you wish to help out.

The Officer’s Mess takes is into a special operation to destroy the Delivirance, the behemoth we showed in Warp Rift 21’s Dry Dock section. Will the Imperial Navy succeed? And in between we have some answers by the High Admirality in an unofficial Q&A.

Contest Winner: Rubble Basing

Afternoon all. During this short break from titan building I found myself wondering what to do with myself.

So here is a simple guide to building quick realistic looking rubble bases.

OK, you should really start all projects with a realism check. I looked through various sources at rubble and broken buildings. Taking into account the spread of derbis and the materials that make it up. Looking at the image below, you can see this close up not only has broken masonary in it, but also other objects that may have been held within the building, or on the street outside. Items like these add character and life to your models, putting them into a situation rather than on a plastic disc.

Shoot, Smash, Stomp! The Stompa Gargant

A few years back, Mark Gibbons worked as a talented artist for Games Workshop. During that time, he produced a number of pieces for the company, but the one I want to discuss today was a particular concept sketch for an Ork Stompa. Some of you may be familiar with the piece, as it made the rounds on the internet as rumors of a plastic stompa release began to emerge. I figured that I might have a little fun and beat GW to their own punch by manufacturing my own version of the warmachine based on their concept art.
