Late autumn bases
February 10, 2008
Here’s a little guide to how I made the bases for my wood elves.
Beginners Sculpting Guide By A Beginner
February 8, 2008
Hi, my name is Aaron or you may know me as Pickle on LO Forums. Recently I decided I would start to learn to sculpt and then coincidently coincided with the beginning of the E-zine. So I decided I would do a series of articles showing how I progress throughout the experience. I’ll include tips that I learn, great tutorials that I use and some of my own. Hopefully some of you will pick up sculpting for the first time and follow me in my experience. In this article I will be showing you the tools I will be using or buying shortly.
How to make a roof
February 3, 2008
This will be my first article about modeling here at Librarium Online. I was looking around for some of my old models when the idea of making a tutorial popped up in my head. I had a few houses I made at least 10 years ago. They have been stowed away and was now just collecting dust. I remembered the time I made them and I also remembered the roof and how easy it was to make it so I did a little reproduction tonight to show you how I did it..
A guide to swappable weapons on Eldar vehicles
January 6, 2008
Since I’ve had a couple of people asking me how I magnetised the weapons on my Falcons and Wave Serpent and what I do for Wraithlords and War Walkers, I thought I’d put together this guide.
There are two methods for creating swappable weapon options for Eldar (and any other race, really) vehicles. Firstly - magnets. I’ve used magnets for my Falcons and Wave Serpent. Secondly, pinning. Pinning does not support the weapon as effectively but works fairly well on my Wraithlords, War Walkers and Guardian Heavy Weapon Platforms. For the Guardian Support Weapon platforms I plan to use a combination of the two.
A Snow Base
January 4, 2008
Well this is my first article so go easy on me. A friend of mine asked me about this base and I figured maybe some other people could get some use out of it. I would also like to add that most of these techniques have been taken from others or from seeing other peoples work. That being said here it goes. This is what you need to create a melted snow base.
Adding Blood to Snow
January 4, 2008
I was extremely pleased with how the blood turned out on my first batch of 5 Chaos Warhounds and felt that it was worth sharing how I did it. It is super easy to do and there is very little that is needed.
Using Cork as a basing option
January 4, 2008
This tutorial will follow a series of photo’s I took while putting together my Archaon on Foot model and will eventually host a link to other cork basing ideas as well. For the time invested I would surely say that this method beats using modeling clay or epoxy putty or other common methods to create a rocky texture.
Possessed Land Raider 1/2
January 4, 2008
Well folks, this is going to be a first for me. You see, I’ve never really been good at completing projects. Some call it laziness, others call it……well, laziness too I spose. But that’s not really the point. The point is, I have made a decision to start, and more importantly, complete a major project of converting and painting a single large model. You might be wondering why I’d bother converting something if I even have trouble finishing painting something, well, I have decided that it is time I also learned how to use greenstuff correctly, as more than just space filling, how to use plasticard too (never used it before at all), and learn some of the painting techniques that so many other people know.
Alternative Empire Units
January 4, 2008
I am currently building a nice little Empire Army, based loosely in the south of the Empire and in the Border Princes.A sort of roaming, for-hire force, sometime working for the various elector counts of Wissenland, Averland, Stirland, even into Reikland, or the halflings of the Moot, sometimes wandering off over the Black Mountains to extend the glorious realm and of course earn a bit of dosh. The models are painted red and white, so they could even wander off up to Talabheim… (but the reason is that I really wanted to paint gored and puffed clothing with those colours, and it fitted my idea for my knights - more later…).
Turn a Landspeeder into a Hummer
January 4, 2008
This tutorial will show you how to turn a Landspeeder into a Hummer. A good tutorial by Andrea with pictures.
