Hello, first of all I would like to apologize for what I'm about to post, basically I havent been able to use my camera as of lately so my process is'nt well documented and I cannot deliver a step by step.
I will try to explain what I did in each picture the best I can and if you would like to know how I did something feel free to ask me in this thread, drop me a PM, find me in chat or where ever I may be.
Alright so this piece is for my city fight board, the size of it is roughly the maximum 12 x 12 inchs. The place where I used my coat hanger is the pipeline running through the middle of piece.
The windows have a strip of foam core on the outside of them. Everything here was glued down with a hot glue gun since it is the only safe and fast way to glue the foam (pva takes forever)
The rest here is pretty basic I just carved out 1/2 inch foam with a x-acto knife.
Alright so this next step here I needed to add a bit of shape and to cover up the spaces inbetween the cut of coat hanger and make the crater in the middle more realistic looking.
So what I did is took some white glue (I have about 4 liters of the stuff)put in a small container and then mixed some sand into it until it became a thick paste. Then I took a old butter knife and just lathered the areas in it and used the knife to shape and smooth it. I applied some of it to the corners of the building to build some rubble up.
After that I just took some more sand and sprinkled it on top of the paste.
Then after that I simply I applied a layer of white glue to the base area and applied sand. Now after this step leave the entire piece to dry for about 2 days. You want the glue to fully dry so it does'nt mix with your base coat of black.
So I added abit of rubble here, To make the rubble simply grab a old used blender or meat grinder from a garage sale, flea market etc. Then chop up some empty sprues with some clippers first then chuck them into your grinding device.
Then pour down a fair bit of white glue in the areas you want rubbled chuck the sprues on top and then after that (this is not shown in this picture) add some more sand to the areas of glue that are still shown.
Alright and that is all I have for now, I am sorry once again for not being able to take pictures for a full step by step. Like I said before if you have any questions feel free to ask me.
