It doesn't have to be, ypu don't even have to be good. Just enjoy it. The more you paint, and more effort you put into the it, the better the results you get in return. Everyone starts off as a bad painter, it is through patience and effort that they improve. That said, I'm not trying to knock anyone for using quick methods such as dipping - if it works for you then fair enough. Just try to bear in mind that if you don't try your skills will never develop. =)
