I find that for white faces, bronzed flesh works better than dwarf flesh as a basecoat. I then do a thinned down wash of flesh wash ( thinned with water 50/5

. Then I highlight with bronzed flesh followed by elf flesh. I think that this works very well, but here is a pic of mine to show you the result
