Default Domini Vulpes: Basic Information

Domini Vulpes

Origin:
Sometime between 350.M41 to 400.M41 it was decided that a number of new Space Marine Chapters would be created to bolster key areas of the Imperium.
One such chapter was the Imperial Angels, who would later change the chapter name to the Domini Vulpes to better suit their new home.
Once the chapter hit full strength, it was given its fleet of one Battle Barge, nine Strike Cruisers, and appropriate rapid strike and escort vessels, and sent off to do the Emperors work in different parts of the Imperium.
However, around 740.M41, the Chapter received new orders to head to the Eastern Fringe to bolster its defences, and to assist with defeating the new Xeno menace that had appeared.
Unfortunately for the chapter, the Battle for Macragge had been concluded by the time its fleet arrived. However, all was not lost, as it was reported that some of what was known as Hive Fleet Behemoth had splintered off, and had found its way deeper into Imperial space. With the casualties which had been sustained by other forces who took part in the Battle for Macragge, it was concluded that since the Imperial Angels were the nearest to full operational strength, and fresh to face battle, that they would be better suited for the task.
The fleet was turned around, and sent to a system not all that far from the Eastern Fringe, known as the Tremainus System, home to the Vulpmunden Imperial guard regiments.

The Tremainus system consists of nine planets, most of which are Agri and Civilised worlds with the main planet being Vulpmund. (For Further information read: Tremainus System)
Once the chapter reached the system, the Tyranids had already devoured the outer planet of Sen'd Lupe, an almost cold desolate Imperial research world, and were massing to move to the next. An Agri world known as Breeze, though its official name is Pyron II.
The Angels proceeded to work with the Systems Governor, and the local Imperial Guard regiments in ridding the system of the Tyranids. (For further information read: The Domini Vulpes: Battle History (700.M41/799.M41)

The Tyranid threat was put down, at the loss of 83% Casualties from, the Vulpmuden 11th Imperial Guard, 26% from the 7th Vulpmunden Imperial Guard, and 6% from the Imperial Angels Adeptus Astartes Chapter.
With the chapters task complete they found themselves with no where to go, but were offered to stay, and use the system as a base of operations, as thanks for coming to the aid of the system.
The Chapter Master, Matthias Reynard, who had been impressed by the way the Guard regiments had fought (The fact that a squad of Vulpmunden Storm Troopers had come to his add after his command squad had fallen.) accepted, and the Chapter now stays in its own fortress monastery in a remote part of Vuplmund, and helps petrol and defend the system as well as its surrounding worlds.
Shortly after, the chapter renamed itself to the Domini Vulpes, to better suit the beliefs of the worlds they protected. As well as the beliefs of a lot of the new Space Marines that would be inducted over time.

Homeworld:

Vulpmund is primarily a civilised world, with four main hives. The rest of the populated areas are large towns and cities as well a number of villages.
The planet itself is of a size similar to Terra, though most of it still remains green and lush. It has six main continents, four of which have its own hive.
There are three main cultures on Vulpmund. Kelp, En'Girn, and the largest being Imperial Gothic.
The continent that the Domini Vulpes fortress monastery is located is called Rav'gelendan, the third biggest of the six continents. The monastery is also located deep in one of Vulpmunds highest mountain ranges, Vulpi-Hyll.

Organisation:

The Domini Vulpes follow most of the Codex Astartes, in regards to how the organization of the chapter's resources are set out.
They have ten companies, just as the codex states.

Beliefs:

Though most of the chapters marines follow the Ecclesiarchy to an extent, some of the older veterans from the days of the Imperial Angels still follow it religiously. Though, like most Codex chapters, all the battle brothers do not venerate the Emperor as a god, but as the mightiest of men.
All of the new battle brothers that are picked up from the surrounding worlds of the Tremainus system as well as Vulpmund itself however, not only follow the Emperor, but also follow the beliefs of the system from which they come from.
The people of the Tremainus system while following the Emperor, also believe that there are six Fox Gods that watch over them while the Mighty Emperor tends to other things of more importance.
(For further information read: The beliefs of the Tremainus System.)

Gene-Seed:

The Geneseed of the Domini Vulpes comes from that of the Space Wolves chapter, and as such, they gain the slight mutations that it brings, such as the canines and heightened senses.
However, it seems to be a more stable form of the gene, (Possibly from the Ultramarines Chapter.) and as a result those that do go through the right of becoming a battle brother of a Domini Vulpes, are less likely to fall to the more severe from of mutation that the Space Wolves geneseed carries.
However 'The curse of the Wulfen' has still been rumoured to have affected the chapter to some extent.

Battlecry:

For the Emperor, we fight!
Death to the enemies of Tiwal. Death the enemies of the Emperor!"
