thought I'd make myself a Flesh tearer's army after reading some stories about them. An army of bloodthirsty, yet loyal maniacs seems good, here's my army, full speed a head and damn the fire-support. Thinking of building up to 1500pt later, but that's a whole different post.
1.Chaplain(1) with B.Pistol, Frag grenades, Jump pack(202)
+D3+3 Death Company with Jump-packs
1. Tactical squad(10) with Melta, Vet Sgt with Power wpn.(190)
Superchraged Rhino(1) with Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers(73)
2. Scout Squad (10) with Vet Sgt with Power wpn.(15
1. Assault squad( with 2 x Plasm pistols, Vet Sgt with Power wpn(240)
1. Dreadnought(1) with Lascannon, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers(133)
Not Subtle I know, but could be fun, just to tear(no pun intended...) at the enemy and shred him into little pieces.
Looks good. Nothing more to say, although DC dreadnaughts are certainly for fun than regular ones
Very cool...one of my favorite chapters. Lovin' the fluffiness you're bringing to the table with this -- for higher point games, add maybe another assault squad and a Baal Predator for fluff.
EDIT: D'oh! Read the bit about damning the fire support...add a Sanguinary High Priest...that should make things more fun.
Thanks for the nice comments , why the sanguinary high priest wouldn't it be better to have the librarian and have loads of attacks, as opposed to re-rolled attacks.
Thinking about adding a vet Assault squad or another assault squad, and a death company dreadnought for 1500 pts and either the librarian or high priest, but still unsure as to which one to use.
Sanguinary Priests are fluffier -- what's more like the BA? A psychotic dude who collects blood religiously, or some psychic pansy that sits there and tries to remember how to make his mind set things on fire?
Note -- I don't really think psykers are pansies...just using it for the comparison.
Going on, try an Honor Guard...they are one of the most droolworthy units in the BA codex.
True, good point about the priest, guess i got carried away when i saw the librarian. Not sure that Flesh Tearers use them though, remember seeing somewhere that they use the geneseed implantation process that the more vanilla chapters use. i like to stay true to an army's background when designing one, so not sure if it's fluffy to take the high priest, anyone know or am i get my chapters mixed up? honour guard look good, and all those power weapons, know what you mean about drool...still i'm hesitant as veteran squads for flesh tearers are more likely to lose members to the death company(WD 252 had the index astartes and the special rule for the Flesh Tearers), so it might undemine their effectiveness, but then again the more the merrier for the death company I'm guessing
Nah high priests have really been toned down in a FT army..liby is just as fluffy. If not more since hes able to load out alot of attacks in CC...which is the FT's greatest ability fluff and game wise.
Hmmm... so which one do you thinks better for a good, fluffy FT army the Priest(BA background), or the Librarian(the search for a cure to the black rage)?
Actually, when you put it that way, they both seem cool. The Librarian could be a tragic hero, a victim of the thing he seeks to cure...HOLY *****!!! I'm a sucker for plot devices like that.
He really wouldn't be a victim..he's advanced to a place of leadership so obviously he is less effected than others.
I think in a fluffy FT army the librarian would fit more..hes praised not only in his work for a search for a cure but also for his iron constitution for resisitng it so far and hes ability to be a god in CC...
