Im taking out the heavy bolter form the rhino squad and fixing and the plasma pistols form the assault squads ill add and other marine to the devistator squad and then i should eb done.
dosent any one have any thing to say? Do you guys think this could winn (or doo good) in turnys? I might join a local 1500 point tourney soon. so i kinda nead to know
I think they'd do well, but i have one concern i think that that dreadnaught is going to be taken out pretty soon, i think that it is a good, well rounded army, its got its assault marines to attack in close combat, some devastator squads to provide anti-tank/anti troops depending on frag or krak missiles, weterans to counter attack, two solid squads as a fire base. This army should do well in my opinion, 'coz its pretty balanced. beware of the imperial guard though, their tons of troops will whittle you down unless you stay in cover.

Let me see, are you by chance a rushing typer Fallout_soldier? We have a literature problem here
Phobos better not see this, he might have something to say about it...
i dont like the idea of heavy weapons and flamers in the same squad maybe trade the flamers for plasma guns for some more punch

Soldier, I like your army, but before I comment, I want to make sure I have the strategy you're going to be using right. First you use the Chaplain with the jump pack and the assault squad to go tank hunting, and possibly a dangerous hq or heavy support, whatever comes first. You use the marines to advance and hold ground (if that mission requires that) or you use them to take out mass swarms (kroots, orcs, imperial guard, or tyranids). You keep the vet. squad in cover until after an assault (another squad vs. enemy) and they jump out and counter. You use the dreadnought with the lascannon (big giveaway) to take out heavy tanks and such. You use the devastators to provide cover for any advancing units that need them (keeping them in dense cover of course). If that is right, then I like your strategy, well rounded. But you're probably going to find that your Predator is going to get shot down pretty easy, its a relatively light armored tank for Space marines and it should be out in the open if it's side sponsons are going to make a big dent in the enemy army. So heres what you should do about that. Have your Predator advance behind your two Tactical squads (which a lot of people underestimate) until it gets into a cleared out area that it can fully use its side sponsons without any major threats. Thats a good idea because you eliminate the chance of tank rushing (which would kill that army, because im seeing that it relies heavily on the cover fire from your dreadnought and heavy support) and you eliminate any chance of lascannon fire because your two Tactical squads are in the way. But if you see the enemy is packing a lot of ordinance (in other words, imperial guard) you should scrap that idea and keep the Predator in cover and tank hunt.
I hope my advice helped and you took the time to read it.
^ thats manily right. On other fourms i here that any swarm army will kill my list. Do you have any ideas of wut i can to stop this?
I dont entirely agree with the statement that they would kill your list, cc sm are very dangerous in cc. And you have 2 tactical squads with heavy bolters and flamers (teehee) which are gunna put a dent in swarms. You also have that vet squad which could do some nice damage. But i see where they would make that prediction. Youre predator and dreadnought, and possibly youre assault marine squad (because of your plasma guns, which focus on heavy armor, but it depends on how you use them), are all meant for taking out vehicles. But, you still have those cc squads and if you used your assault marines effectively they could stand against the swarms.
Mainly my advice to stop swarm armies (which you will have the most trouble with, but they shouldnt KILL you), would be to keep your preadator and dread back until youve taken out any tanks that the enemies have. Then you should enter cc with your vet squad and other sms, and have your dreadnaught fight and, best of all, cuz you wont be needing the predator much anymore, have your tank rush the enemy swarms. Most enemies in swarm armies are not very good (hence the swarming, quantity over quality). Then you should have your easily maneuverable assault marines get behind the enemy, so if the tank does does make them tank shock and theyre forced to fall back, they fall back into your assault marines, and they die automatically. If they miraculously pass the leadership test, have your assault marines charge forward, and have your tank fall back as soon as possible, to live and kill another day.
Once again, hope it helped.
To start with you can put a bit more effort into your typing, it is of a very low standard, It really annoys me and if it gets too annoying then warnings start getting given out.
If the marines and the chaplain are going tank hunting then get some melta bombs for them. You could also split them into 2x5 to get extra plasma pistols.
The Dreadnought sticks out a bit too much so I would get rid of it, with the points give the assaulty units Veteran seargeants power fists, they will be spread out unlike the dreadnought and will be necessary for taking down carnifexes and wraithlords. Or alternatively get a 5 man squad with a plasma gun and lascannon for tankbusting. If you REALLY like Dreadnoughts keep it in.
Get the chaplain a Bolt pistol and Terminator Honours +2 power weapon attacks will help a lot.
Everyone is right. Get rid of the dreadnought. Chuck something like a vindicator or whirlwind if you're scared of swarm armies. A vindicator is very good because most swarm armies need to get close to do damage (grots, hormies etc) even Imperial Guard need to be within 24 to be able to shoot their lasguns. Still within range. Nothing beats the "Whoops! Where did your hormogaunts go?"
