I love Pathfinders.
Don't forget that all your obliterators should be individual squads. There is no need to group them when you have an unlimited number of heavy support slots.
Howabout 75 deathcult assasins. They are all scoring units and you can't shoot more than one with a unit each turn (except super heavies).
My silly favourite is a Grey knight list for 3500 points on a 6x4 table.
Enough lance strikes to put two down in every square foot of the table.
take the careful planning stratagem and they turn up faster. Of course capturing objectives is a little challenging.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
If you do single Obliterator unit, you might as well as tap on the first turn when your opponent declare that he's using Surgical Raid strategem... espcially if your opponent picks Surgical Raid AND is using Space Marine Masters of the Chapter formation.. two Strengh 5 AP2 hits on all of your Obliterator before the game starts = G.G.
this would be fun.... 35 daemon hosts. how random would that be
9 10 man chaos marine units w/ no upgrades except aspiring champions and rhino = 1800
8 tide of spawns = 1200pts
90 chaos terminators = 3000pts
powerfists x 30 power fists
I am rulezor
warlord titan + baneblade = 3000pts
That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.
Warlord Titan ;?
I think there should be a rule for using it... if you take a Warlord Titan, your opponent is allowed to have 10 vortex grenades.. Speaking of which, have anyone seen a Warlord Titan? or any plan on making one?
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
That's 18 Fear of the Darkness at 24" radius around them.... RUN AWAY LITTLE CONSCRIPT! but leave 1 objective for my 5-men tact team to capture!
And these lists are exactly why I found it alarming when I saw the rule about no FOG. Now that these spam lists are allowed the balanced lists are rendered inneffective. A balanced list will have a wide range of types of firepower, but not enough of one type of firepower to bring down a spam list. Also while spam lists can be countered by the right counter spam, playing it that way just turns WH40K into a more complicated version of rock paper scisors: if you luckily guess the right thing to spam you will win without the need for strategy, if you guess wrong, you will lose despite any strategy. I love having all the big stuff together in one book, and would love to take some of these apoc baneblades as heavy support for my regular IG army, but when it comes to gameplay rules, I'll stick with regular WH40K.
Now I am not saying that there are no lists in regular 40k that are too strong/too weak, but it's not as extreme as I think apoc will be.
PS Imperialis Dominatus: Do you not still have to meet codex requirements? Are you not limited to 1 conscript platoon per infantry platoon?
what do you call a lasgun with a laser sight?
