I have a multi-melta marine in my collection, but don't know what to do with him. I believe only dev squads can have a marine on foot with a multi-melta, but MM's seem like a poor heavy weapons choice for a dev squad. Is a all MM dev squad usefull? Do MM's mix well with any other HW choices for a dev squad?

They are ok, i would put them in a Razor back with laascannons so you can head of to one tank while you destroy another.

Personally I don’t like a fielding a multi melta in a long-range dev squad. You could however field 1-4 multi-meltas and mount them in a rhino. That would surprise any tank heavy army.
Salamanders are allowed to field a multi melta in there tactical squads, that’s the only other use I can think of.

multy-meltas are my fevorite heavy weapon, and are great on attack bikes\land speedrs, but a devestator squad need things with range, and its not good at range...

Agreed. Multi Meltas are better on fast things, I'd rather have lascannons.

No salamanders for me. My tac squads need las cannons! I play Bruin Chapter(vanilla, bear-themed). So I will probably make an extra devastator squad with the MM guy for games when I have left-over Heavy choices.
