just wanted to know what made you choose your army,
for my i started with my Tyranids because i just love em' to bits, then i collected Raven Guard cause everyone had marinse and i wanted some.
My friend collected Eldar and i loved the rangers so my elder army began, then cause my SM had someone to fight (tyranids) i chose DE for my eldar to get stuck into, Then i started Sisters of Battle just so my Space Marines had a "warm welcoming" when they got back from a battle
and last but not least, Daemon hunters cause come on, how can you resiest a grey knights termanator (plus i coudent let my Raven Guard get all the fun wif the sisters)
I adopted a cute lil' pikachu fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus! </a>
<a href='http://kevan.org/brain.cgi?M_O_R_T_I_S' target='_blank'>I FOUND THE UNTIMATE WH40K WEBSITE!</a>
my first army I chose was also Tyranids... they just looked so sleek and I saw some really nice art, I'll try to find some links.
my second army of choice was Tau because I liked the idea of a 'good guy' race among all the destruction of the 40K universe.
finally, I chose my final army, the Necrons because I always liked their fluff since the old minis, but the models never suited me... when they came out with the new models though, I immediately grabbed some... then I saw their tank, needless to say I got that too!!!
There's already a longer thread on the same topic, please post there instead.
I've posted the reasons I chose my Tyranids there, and I won't cut'n'paste and waste board space by putting it here as well, so read it there!
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
I started with Necrons, because I just loved the idea of an unstoppable, unkillable army. It was just cool.
I'm doing several Imperial armies, mainly because I liked the fluff, and Ultramarines are just sweet looking.
I'm doing Dark Eldar because no one else does, lol
And I'm starting 1000 sons, because they sound cool- an army of mindless, thoughtless, souless automations.... sound like Necrons. But different enough to try anyway
I chose ==My== DA (soon to be the Angels of the LIon, but that's a different story ) because I loved their background, models, and colors. This was before we got plasma cannons, so don't call ==Me== a powergamer i'm also working on a DW and RW army (duh! )
Irecently chose Flesh Tearers and Kroot as ==My== next armies because Flesh Tearers are a nice change from the clean cut, shooty DA, and Kroot are just frickin' awesome

I saw the Furioso and the terminators and I instantly knew that I wanted to be my BA.
It all started one day when i met this kid named Alex. We started hanging out, and then i saw his DnD books, so i asked him to teach me how to play because i was over curious to see what this "stupid mindgame" is good for. Surpirsingly, i loved the game, and it wasn't long before i had my own sourcebooks. I was REALLY into the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, and so i checked out novels at my local library on FR as well. One day, i see this book w/a dark elf and a panther on the cover called "Sojourn" by R.A. Slavatore. I read the book, and that's the day my obsession with Dark Elves began. I became extremely Drowish, so my friend's were beginning to be a little scared of me . Anyways, one day he asked me if i wanted to start a game called Warhammer, cuz he already collected Necrons. I said mabye later. However, after i saw one game, i already knew that the game was for me. I wanted a Drowish army, i told him, one that was fast and deadly and could kill people before they can strike back. He had codexes Necrons, Tau, Marines, Eldar, and DARK ELDAR. At first he told me the DE sucked, so i said mabye not them. I liked the Tau, but when i learned they sucked at HtH i quit on them as well. Then i looked closer at the DE codex, and found the army to be extremely dark elvish. However, i also liked the Eldar, for 1 thing, i was into psionics and the Starcraft Protoss alot. So came the big decision: Eldar or Dark Eldar. After some researching, i decided to do Dark Eldar. Everything about the army attracted me. I loved the HQ, particularly Drazhar, the Raiders, the Reavers, the Wyches, and of course, the good 'ol talos. therefore, DE won in my eyes. However, i wanted to make sure that there wasn't another army for me. I saw one: Tyranids. Holy crap, it was like trying to choose whether i like the Zerg or Protoss more!! I almost started 'Nids, but when i heard that the Mutable Genus was going to be illegal in tournaments, i went quits on them too. So in the end, the Dark Eldar prevailed, because i liked to do something out of the ordinary, that everyone else hated or mocked, and although the Dark Eldar are evil and twisted in every sense, you can't deny that they've got style. . . . .
"And whoever wants to be a creator in good and evil, must first be an annihilator and break values. Thus the highest evil belongs to the greatest goodness: but this is--being creative."
~ Friedrich Nietzsche ~
Daemonhunter were my first army of choice cause thy look nice, have style, and are the base dor a whole load of conversions.
My current conversion project is a Terminator biker squadron with the Brother Captian on a quad bike.
U can see the thread here:
I went with the Guard. I told a friend of mine that I liked Artillery, and he recommended Guard. I liked the Steel Legion models, and liked the paint scheme of the Death Korps in the Armageddon Codex, so I chose them. Now that they have awesome fluff and a legal army list (woo! I really like them
