heya! can anyone tell if this army list is any good for a tournament that me and some of my friends are doing - any improvements welcome except what drew me to iron warriors was the potential for 9 obliterators so dont worry too much about them (they kick ass!) HQ Chaos Lieutenant with close combat weapon, bionics and Kai Gun - 76 Elites 3 Obliterators - 210 3 Obliterators - 210 3 Obliterators - 210 Troops 5 Chaos Space Marines - 70 5 Chaos Space Marines - 70 Heavy Support Chaos Predator with turret-mounted twin-linked lascannon, lascannon side sponsons, extra armour, smoke launchers and spotlight - 154 Total - 1000 thanks

The Heavy and HQ units look good as they are. Just add more troops! | |

Not to be harsh or anything but I can easily see this army getting trounced. Everything hinges on the Obliterators as the rest of the list can't really do anything (the Predator can bust tanks/montrous creatures/wraithlords etc, but what is it going to do against a horde?). I can see a Hive Tyrant with implant attack getting in amongst them the Obliterators and having a field day. If the Obliterators get tied up in combat, or their LOS is blocked by combat infront of them you could quickly be faced with a very sticky situation. Also the list lacks mobility, when it comes to capturing table quarters or deployment zones or reaching objectives, this list simply is not going to be able to do it. Obliterators are nice (even though I don't use them), but I would not base an entire army list around them. In a 1000 points battle I would be more concerned with troop numbers, with maybe 3 obliterators being the icing on the cake. |
