Can you rate this army for me. How would it do in a tournament?
Flesh Tearers Army
Chaplain with jump pack and bolt pistol - 201
8 Veteran Assault Marines - 224
5 Marines, one with missile launcher - 85
5 Marines, one with missile launcher - 85
10 Assault Marines, one with plasma pistol - 255
Land Speeder with multi-melta - 65
Land Speeder Tornado with assault cannon - 85
Total - 1000
Ok i find there to not be enough troops, although this may be because i play with larger armies all the time so yours just seems small. Also unless you have been having success with the landspeeders you may want to drop them for more troops or make some extra points and he some sorta tank. Iv never had much luck with speeders so thats your call.
thanks seth, i'll probably keep the land speeders as they did quite well in my old BA army and also i like smaller armies so i dont tend to include too many troops. Fair point about including a tank though, any idea which? flesh tearers are only allowed one
If you are just using those 5 man squads for anti-tank get a Lascannon. I would possibly drop the tornado. For more troops probally, also I think you need more frills, I.E. get some power wep sargs, plasma pistols in those assualt squads etc.
I would probally just get one assualt squad in a 1000 point game. Give that squad like 2 plasma pistols and a power wep sarg. The rest I would do for some more troops. Try scouts with cc wep and bolt pistol and a power wep sarg, (since you seem to like cc).
I would probally drop that vet squad for a dread, use the difference in pts for troops. Also I would drop the tornado for again more troops, and like 30 pts of wargear stuff.
my god you spent 450 points on assault marines!
that's a lot for not that many marines
i would drop the veteran assault squad for some more tactical marines
i might drop the tornado but if i do i would definitely switch the missile launchers for lascannons... you seem to be lacking any real armor stopping power and i would be concerned about losing the speeder... if you do... you're up **** creek without a paddle.
although at 1000 you shouldn't run into much heavy armor... but if you dropped the two speeders for a dreadnought with twin-linked lascannons and a missile launcher and the veteran assault squad to bolster your troop squads and add a third i think you'd be in much better shape... but i don't know your style or what you'll be facing so it's your choice
I would add more vet sgts to this army, you are gonna want one with a power fist in death company
You are gonna score low on comp points due to spending less than 40% of your points in troops and more than 25% in FA.
I agree with other posters, I would dop the tornado, the majority of armies you will face in a tourney will have 3+ saves so the tornados weaponry is sadly muted
I would add a tank for tank busting dutis, as to which one, a pred annih every time.
I would be seriously reconsidering your formation, you are using 3 assult based jump pack units as your main attack, I would be tempted to ditch one of them and take some scout squads tooled for close combat, with their infiltrate thay should get to the enemy in time to support the assult, they are quite cheap comparably (about 2 to 1 for jump pack troops so dropping one of the squads ill mean adding at least 2 full scout squads if not 3 or 4 lesser squads to give you more chance of death company
Just suggestions though and they would, I supsect, require considerable financial investment from you
Everything you have been told is a lie!
The more tactical Marines and Scouts you have the more will make it into Death Company. I would drop the Vet Squad and one of the speeders and then add in another tactical squad and a scout squad. Plus give assault weapons to the tactical squads. Plasma for long range, meltas for popping tanks, and flamers for fun with troops.
