Which Is The Best List For An Army Based Around Close Combat?

Most of my armies are based on shooting with a little support from close quarter units, so I ask you….
Which Is The Best List For An Army Based Around Close Combat?

(I left Guard & Tau out because they are clearly not close quarter armies.)

What about chaos daemons? The have cheap units with rending or power weapons with a lot of attacks on the charge

Witch Hunters? (O_o) They are the same as Guard and Tau: almost entirely built around shooting.

I voted for marines, Although there is not a best list marines have Blood angels with assault troops all round, So they can move quickly and effectively into combat. Also black templars move forwards when shot.

Although eldar are fantastic at close combat

And I would also suggest land raiders for transport and world eaters. Although its a bit on expensive point side of things
Me, Ambivalent? Well, yes and no.

I see 'Crons but I don't see Daemons... why the hate ?
My vote goes for Daemons. Orks are very close, thou.

Orks no doubt, I mean they're basic and cheapest troops choice has 2 attacks on his profile and furious charge...that just screams an army based around CC.

As much as I love my nids, point for point they are less effective than the greenies in CC. (Now if we first wither them by shooting...)

Go for whichever army suits you, I prefer Tyranids over Orks for just being who they are. The hive mind and skulking lizards appeal much more to me than big green brutes.
