I would suggest more tanks and obliterators, since this is a Iron Warriors army. I think you should use at least one defiler, keep the dreadnought, use at least 3 obliterators, and use a basilisk and/or vindicator. Try to use four heavy support choices since that is the point of Iron Warriors, and obliterators are very good so you might as well take advantage of being able to use extra of them (I use four, I would probably use more but I find them difficult to build and expensive). The tanks I use in my army are a defiler, dreadnought, basilisk, and vindicator. A lot of people prefer to use two defilers though. Also, if you are fielding a basilisk or defiler they are best used firing indirectly (especially if your using the new rules, they tend to make indirect fire easier for me) in most situations.

Rep Power: 57 ![]() | Iron Warrior Lieutenant 123 pts Power Fist/Combi-Bolter Bionics Daemonic Strength Servo Arm No point in taking Servo-Arm I feel, you only have one vehicle, and repairing it is unlikely and paying 30 points for an extra attack, even if it is a powerfist attack seems too much. I would be more inclined to kit out the Lieutenant like this: Chaos Lieutenant Daemonic Strength and Power Sword (or just a Lightning Claw without strength, works out pretty much the same chance of wounding but Lightning Claw has better chance on T3 and T4 models) Bionics (not even necessary) Kai Gun It comes out cheaper than the current setup, and is more effective in an Iron Warriors context. Iron Warrior Aspiring Champion Bolter/Close Combat Weapon Bionics Not a very good idea. Just wasting point here, Bionics isn't going to do anything and there is no point in having an Aspiring Champion just so you can have Bionics. Either make him just a regular marine, or outfit him with a Power Fist like you have in other squads. Iron Warriors Aspiring Champion Bolter/Power Fist Bionics You want to equip him with a Bolt Pistol, not a Bolter so you get another attack with the Power Fist. Same goes for those Aspiring Champions you have given a Bolter and Close Combat Weapon, make it a Bolt Pistol. Melta-gun Lascannon These squads are going to be standing still, equip them all with a Plasma Gun so they can shoot up to 24". Even if you move, the Plasma Gun will still allow you a shot up to 12". Melta Gun is not effective since you are going to want to keep the enemy at arms reach. Same with the squad armed with the Heavy Bolter, change that to a Plasma Gun as well. Overall you will have some definitely trouble on horde killing power, two Heavy Bolters are going to kill a few Gaunts/Orks every turn, but not enough. The Bolters will go some way to helping, but they are not to be relied upon. If and when the enemy gets into Close Combat you are going to have some serious problems repelling them. This will lead to a Close Combat screen going up and stopping your units behind shooting at units behind this combat, allowing more enemy units to get into hand to hand. As Zero said, Iron Warriors main strength is the amount of Heavy Support they can field, I suggest you take advantage of this and look into a tank of some kind, a squad or two of Havocs and perhaps some more Obliterators. |
