I have my space marine shooting team i now want a army that leads towards CC.
I was thinking demon with loads of blood letters 3 demon princes and 3 blood crushers with thirster.
Or would loads of carnifixs hive tryants and genestealer be better?
Which is better for CC help ME!!!!
Well, Khorne Daemons don't do well on their own without help from another god, so if you want to go pure Khorn you will have a tougher time.
Tyranids do very well in CC, and Genestealer-centric armies are fun in CC. Carnifexes seem to be more efficient in shooting, and Tyrants can really only CC will with wings though.
I would say Tyranids, with a Flyrant and Broodlord, and Genestealer heavy.
Tyranid players will say Tyranid.
Daemon players will day Daemon.
Best to put it in a neutral location
If you want an army that can sometimes be frustrating but can also be incredibly fun to play as you just run through your opponents you should go with a mono-khorne list. This can be frustrating to play as any mono-god list is but if things go right it can be a blast.
CC Tyranids though can be just as hard to manage especially in 5th. Their units can kill in CC but that's kind of a mixed blessing since they cannot consolidate into another squad when they kill the current one anymore. But they have some of the most devastating CC units in the game in the form of Genestealers and Broodlord.
All in all trying to go just CC with either of these armies can be a tough experience at first. You should figure out which one you will have more fun painting/collecting and go with that one. That is what should be the deciding factor in this case.
My answer? Neither.
You have a strong Space Marine force already, and in case you forgot, Space Marines are good at everything. I'm hardly familiar with the new codex, but I know that Assault Squads with a powerfist yielding sergeant arse non-combat squads (and do a damn fine job against CC specialists too) not to mention that you can use the combat squads ability to double the number of units you have. Chaplains aren't quite as good, but they still boost assault squads, Space Marine bikers are quite hard to kill and turboboost, scout bikers have crazy new special abilities, and let's not forget drop-podding dreadnoughts! Deep-striking a squad of Assault Terminators onto your scout bikers' teleport homer is a mean trick, and there are plenty of new options to enjoy (seismic hammer anyone?). My advice is that you stick with Space Marines, because you'll be able to field both forces using the same army, you won't have to buy as many models to field both armies, and you'll be able to field a very large force of Space Marines if anyone ever wants to play an Apocalypse battle with you (or if there are only 3 players total they can do a 2v1 with you).
My gaming group's new motto: That army you're using is overpowered because it hurts my guys, codex is broken and needs a rewrite.
thanks guys this helped alot.
Think ill get nids just because my ultramarine force will hate them
I started with Chaos Space Marines and then decided to start Niddlies for a change of pace.
They're really quite cool, and an excellent contrast to a MEq force
