i currently have a Black templars army and I'm planning on starting another army very soon. I've narrowed it down by means of likness to SM (grey knights), out-dated codexes (dark eldar), armies i've attempted before, and my personal view of the army.
wat is left are the following:
Chaos Daemons (Tzeentch heavy on pink horrors)
Imperial Guard (99% Infantry, maybe a bassalisk or 2)
Tau (6 squads of 12 fire warriors all with devilfishes)
wat do u think?

Daemons for sure, they are sooooo much fun to play, no matter what god you play.
my only concern, and really its my ONLY concern, about daemons (well, tzeench) is that its a pure pewter army. $20 for 5 models is gonna be hard on my wallet. If they had plastic models of pink horrors i wouldn't even have this post lol.
For daemons, they've got plastic Bloodletters and Daemonettes, and what with it being Daemons, you're gonna need some kind of CC going on.
Daemons win outright on style and epic, &c.
That said, I voted for Tau. They've got class, without sacrificing the fact they're a force to be reckoned with for the most part.
good points, but if u look at my first post, if i do daemons its Tzeentch.
Actually with the new IG rumors i think thats gonna be the way to go.
first off yes u can combine.
2nd, tzeentch daemons dont combat, they are supreme shooty. There magic, which counts as guns most of the time, is off da hizzie'. A normal pink horror has a str 4 ap 4 assault 3 "gun" so yeah.
That's why I made the point about needing some combat daemons. Even flamers lack awesome firepower abilities, and just about everything a daemon can shoot counts as an assault weapon. If you can combine you could have a couple of units of horrors / flamers supporting a couple of units of say, bloodletters, to bring the CC hammer down on whoever you're against.
I stick by what I said earlier though, I'm pretty sure daemons won't ever perform very well, the army choice is way too limited.
wat i wanted to use most for tzeentch is deep strike an icon then put everything ithing 6" and shoot as soon as i come into play. Can't assault when u enter play so in that case best CC is nurgle since they have FNP. However Tzeentch has a better invul. But, because money is the main issue, if i can get 40 horrors and a lord or 2, then i will complete my army with bloodletters most likely, gotta love a full squad of power weapons.
Thanks again for your input, now, does anyone have n e support for an infantry IG army, or n e reason not to for that matter?
I play most armies, but IG has always been close to my heart.
And with the new codex coming may 2nd. With alot of goodies (like rumored 4pt/guardsmen, and valkyries ! ) It's looking like bright times for the guard.
Have you had a look at the "leaked" summary sheet yet?
Also there is so much you can get for guard (model wise), forgeworld carry alot of great stuff.
They also have tanks (although, from your post, I gather your not a fan?).
They are incredibly easy to customize, sick of fighting for the emperor? Go rouge, make a traitor army, make them mercenaries.
Also, the feeling I get when I drop 3 5" templates of marine doom on my enemy is just...wonderful... Same feeling I get when using hellhounds against orks or nids, or eldar...or other IG... or tau... well, anything without a 3+ save to be honest
I'm currently building around 3-400 troopers + support (tanks) and trying not to count the minutes until the new codex launches..
That being said, I also play tau, and while I like them, they do not give me the same warm feeling when I play them.
My latest army is daemons, I was going for a pure nurgle list, but I branched out, getting a keeper of secrets, a soulgrinder, epidemus, and lotsa plauge bearers. And while I think they are a blast to play, the whole you must deepstrike (and thus be unable to assault) is really annoying (as most daemons have crappy crappy saves).
So MY recomandation is, go guard!
