Rep Power: 65 ![]() | And do not underestimate how usefull the grenade armed vets have proven to be, supporting the front ranks from behind as moving grenade platforms and similary platoon command squads also offer some good grenade covering fire though not as accurate. Mobile and effective and rarely got invloved in cc. ( 14+ GL frags does horrible damage to 'Nid swarms of horms n genes) deep striking dem charged armed last chancers (26 pts!!)with nothing to lose - can take out an entire marine squad or terms with S8 A2 ordenance blast. 3 deep striking last....hahahahaah (though realistically only 1 or 2 actually hit a target) how much is a term squad go for nowadays.... And also 1 for desperate attempts to repel a break through (though due to well supported and strong frontline - this rarely happens) have a look n see what ya think Total Points 1482 DOCTRINES sharpshooter CLOSE ORDER DRILL STORM TROOPERS Veterans HQ command squad (five sub-units used) Schaeffer's Last Chancers 75 Kage 35 6 x chancer 66 4 x specialist 20 4 x dem charge 40 Support Squads Anti Tank Support 35 3 x lascannons 75 SHARPSHOOTER 10 Anti Tank Support 35 3 x lascannons 75 SHARPSHOOTER 10 Fire support 35 3 x auto cannon 60 SHARPSHOOTER 10 Fire support 35 3 x heavy bolters 45 SHARPSHOOTER 10 Elites Storm Trooper Vet Sgt 16 2 ST with Melta 40 7 ST 70 deep strike 10 Veterans vet Sgt 13 6X VET 48 3 X GRENADE 24 sharpshooter 10 Veterans vet Sgt 13 6 X VET 48 3 X GRENADE 24 sharpshooter 10 Troops Platoon 812 command squad junior Officer 40 power sword 5 3 x grenade 24 Squad Spades 60 vet sgt 6 1 x grenade 8 SHARPSHOOTER 10 CLOSE ORDER DRILL 0 Squad Skulls 60 vet sgt 6 1 x Grenade 8 SHARPSHOOTER 10 CLOSE ORDER DRILL 0 Platoon 005 command squad junior Officer 40 power weapon 5 3 x grenadae 24 Squad Spades 60 vet sgt 6 1 x flamer 6 SHARPSHOOTER 10 CLOSE ORDER DRILL 0 Squad Diamonds 60 vet sgt 6 1 x flamer 6 SHARPSHOOTER 10 CLOSE ORDER DRILL 0 |

Erm, I would say that this army will suffer heavily when it faces off with Space Marines. You have too few IGs to kill anything with Lasgun fire, and no ordanance except with demo charges. Remember, you have to be bloody close to use the demo charges, and when facing up to bolter fire, your chances of success are minimal. Also, you have 6 Lascannons. If you face up to a heavy Tank force, where most of their armor is 14, you will struggle a bit. If you meet an enemy force such as Nids or Orks, your human wall (IGs) will be ripped to pieces in a turn. 16 Hormagaunts charging a 10 man squad is gone in one turn. I would not use a list like this for IG, because I believe it does not have enough basic infantry to succeed.

agree thats its risky style of fighting and it seems to lack enough infantry but it has so far been quite effective as the fire support from the vets and hq's is potent (have to admit that have some badlly deployed oppenants though) (also found grenade launchers are highly effective against nid's) and so far in most 1500 pointer games the number of tanks faced is not been to daunting. will try include some more lascannons though as the meatshield rule is not good for both sides The dem charges are very unpredictable, but it only takes one to deep strike on target to be within the 6" chucking range to cause real problems as no save.(or not permitted to d.s. can be held back for when things go wrong) and when it works well it is really effective But maybe against well designed armies it will fall apart as only now starting to meet good players so experimenting with tactics. (only played about 12 games in the last couple months ) Have first tourney in 3 months and want to test out as much as possible. and need to find a balance of support fire to infantry vol. currently field 65 combat troops. errmmm or a new army list.. anyway have a real test this week vs BT |

Frankly, and please dont take this badly, your concept is a little off, you have poured points into HQ and elites whilst taking the minimum troops, Ig armies are all about either troops or tanks, byt trying to create an elite army you are competing with Marines and Chaos, and they do it better. That said, why not take grenadiers and use storm troopers as your troops?
