Ok, so I kind of screwed up a lot last night. Like, I forgot to move most of my troops for about 3 turns. And I forgot to use fleet of claw. And I forgot that I had biovores. And I forgot that I get more than one shot with my venom cannons. And I forgot that TMC allocate attacks. And I forgot to charge with my winged tyrant. And I forgot to roll for deepstriking with my tyrant.

Look, it was my first game, and I was too busy being friendly with people in the club. Plus, people were complimenting my newbie paintjob, (I'll post pics as soon as I figure out this new digi-cam my friend Julian lent me). Anyway, here's the list, and I imagine it'd be a lot more effective once I remember to actually move and shoot with the monsters. Also, I have a lot more models, (just about everything except the red terror) so feel free to suggest different units. Once I commit to the list, though, I'm painting up and selling the other models as seperate armies on ebay.

    22 Spinegaunts: Spinefists, hive node - 120

    Heavy Support:

Carnifex: VC, ST, Ext. Carapace - 153 points

Biovores X3, Poison Spore Mines, Bioacid X2 (one for each) - 164 points

My opponent was a high school senior playing Tau, and he was a nice little kid. I don't think winning was that important to him, and it was pretty informal. In fact, he used some empty bases to represent 3 crisis suits he didn't have, so I made him draw a happy face on one to designate the lead suit or whatever. My fexes, which I forgot about because I was busy with an onion and sausage pizza, got shot to bits by his rail guns and plasma whatevers, and my gaunts, which I forgot I had, got burst cannoned to death while they stood there. Basically, the only thing I remembered to use all game was my winged tyrant. I had no idea 40k too so long. I spent most of the time talking about my painting techniques, and watching a game of Epic on the board next to us. Anyway, how's the list look?

I'm wondering if there's a way to use raveners or genestealers in the list, but I like the way the big bugs look and don't want to cut any out. Maybe I could add like 8 genestealers instead of the spinegaunts? Also, I think I might want to make one squad of gaunts deathgaunts. I think if I cut out the 120 points of spinegaunts, and make the second tyrant winged and drop the guard, I free up about 174 points, which is enough to make one squad of 15 deathgaunts with +1 strength. Or, I could add a squad of 10 genestealers and toss in an extra gaunt or something. Just a thought.

Also, I made this a separate post intentionally. I have my reasons.

Oh, and if my tyrant has 3 attacks, and a venom cannon is assault x, do I roll to hit for each shot separately, (3 dice, each at BS 4)? In the game, I forgot I even had more than one hit. Silly me. I actually had 7 venom cannon shots, when I only used 3 per turn.

--- Ok, except You forgot to mention the WBlast it probably has?

--- Solid, though I'd give the Tyrant AdrG WS and I as well. WS not necessary, but I'd still rather keep the I.

And I'd take FlsHks on the tyrant and Guards.

If You decice to go for a second Winged Tyrant, make it identical to the first one... No point in buying an expensive VCannon it won't get to use that often, when the WBlast does as well.

--- I'd make a single large brood with these, 4-5, or up to six if You insist.

--- Solid, but what do You mean by "one for each"? You buy the type of mine for the 'Vore, and it has unlimited mines of the type.

Or do You mean 1x Poison, and 2x Bioacid? Personally, I'd take two types (Poison + BioA) for them all... Thus I could concentrate on using the most effective mine as the situation demands.
