What is more important to you? A boring army that has been done but is most likely to win, or a new or more hip army but it might not win? I bring this up because I was at my GW and asked the workers there opinion. I had mentioned that I plan on making a nidzilla army. He rolled his eyes and said those were boring. It got me thinking I could care less if it is boring or it has been done as long as I have fun and win. I know not everyone feels this way, and I know it also sounds selfish. What are your opinions?
I enjoy doing some weird things that will shock your opponent and they lose focus on these random parts then BANG attack with what you know what works when they aint expecting it.
A good example is i was playing my friends Space wolf army very heavy in CC and i was playing Tau. I toke 2 squad of gun drones and i charged his best CC unit killing some and holding them down for 2 turns whislt my railguns picked off his only shooty part of his army that had a chance of killing me. Once the shooty guys where dead and my drones died i then had a fireing line up against his CC units and rapid fired into them all. My army looked like a mech army and he was ready to fight against a mech army, but not a fire line army.
Surprise = victory
Do what you feel like! Its a game and youre playing it to have fun
Has Nidzilla been done to death? Yes. Just look at the Army lists in the Nid section of the website.
After aboot two games against you, your reoccuring opponents will be sporting more plasma then the bloodbank.
"So, how did you become a Renegade Space Marine?"
"..... Tax evasion...."
I only make armies that look good, I care not if I win or not, never have never will.
although recently the attitude of players at GW's has made me think about being a cheese playing git, afterall why should I continue to care about my opponents fun (like I have for 13yrs) when nobody else can give a crud.
I actually just had to make this choice...
What I try to do normally is pick two or three really strong armies, and then find the least popular one. I see it as a best of both worlds.
Applaud, my friend, the Comedy is finished.
Hive Fleet Charybdis (1-0-0) and Grey Brothers Space Wolf Chapter (3-1-2) [W-L-T]
So, I play DE and...
Seriously it's not that hard to put together a good and exciting list with any army out there. There's no reason not to design a list you find interesting and fun as well as is reasonably competitive. The only problems come up when GW updates your stuff away (Macharian Cross, Light Infantry, Alpha Legion Cultists, etc.)Bad example. Nidzilla is made up of giant Nid monsters of awesome, and is therefore really cool.I had mentioned that I plan on making a nidzilla army.
