i have an ork army and now i am thinking of starting a different army, in this form i would like wargamers to, first, state which army i should play, and secondly why i should play it, ie, how it plays, its great in cc, its great in shooting, its very balanced, ect.
you should try playing orks because they are really fun to play and, even though they lack in shooting, they are one of the strongest cc army's there is.
please help me decide!!!!!!
Hmm, lets try your method...
You should start Tau, they have imo some of the best models in 40k, play in the exact opposite style as orks so will test your skills as a commander, and expand your range of tactics making you a better general. They are a very shooty army and can be very mobile with their JSJing battlesuits and skimmer tanks.
The Emperor Protects

Eldar 3rd Overall/Best General of 26--2nd Overall/Best General of 7--1st Overall/Best General of 11
Well, I can speak at least for the Chaos Daemons which is my first love. Here's why: More and more of the kits are becoming plastic which is more affordable. The Chaos Daemons are absolutely cool looking models and are fun to paint. Daemons have an excellent choice of units in each category because there are four Chaos Gods represented, each with their own strength and weaknesses. Because of this, you can tailor your attacking army to better face your opponent. Chaos Daemons are a bit low on shooting as a general rule, but the shooting they get is pretty good. They have quite a few Monsterous Creatures with multiple wounds who can wreak havoc on troops and tanks alike. All Daemons have Invulnerable saves and some have armour as well. They have three pages of HQ choices ranging from the most powerful to the somewhat powerful. Invulnerable saves can only be countered by the Necron Warscythe and Ctans. Invulnerable saves give you saves on almost everything whereas Armour saves can be countered by low AP weapons and those with a high Strength. All Daemons are immune to instant death, running away (thus sweeping advances) and pinning tests. Chaos Daemons can be used in regular Warhammer fantasy games by converting your bases. By balancing the powers of all four Chaos Gods, you can field an absolutely fierce some, fast and powerful army. You should also know the weird things about Daemons: a) All of your units start in reserve. You split your army in two forces with the same amount of units. You then declare which unit goes out first. Roll a die 6 and 3-6 you field the units you declared; on a 1-2 you field the other units. Any units not going out first are held in reserve. One good thing is, if your units are off the board they at least can't be killed. b) All units arrive on the board via Deep Strike. Deep Striking is good when it works and bad if it doesn't. If you scatter into a building or another model, you could have a Deep Strike mishap. Mishaps could delay your unit, have your opponent place your unit or the unit could be killed. Mishaps are generally rare. If you Deep Strike accurately, it gives your units a tactical advantage. Units with Breath of Chaos who drop in front of the enemy can wipe out entire units. Daemon Princes can warp in right beside so called hidden units, hidden in cover. Although there are pros and cons about Deep Striking, it is a tactical advantage all in all for Daemons being able to out-flank any unit on the board. c) Since all Daemon units are fearless, for all the wounds they lose by in close combat, they must take additional wounds on their troops. IE: 10 Daemonettes vs 15 Ork boyz. The Daemonettes get 4 unsaved wounds and the Boyz get 6 unsaved wounds. The Boyz win by 2 wounds, so the Daemonettes take two more wounds (they still can save against taking these wounds).
There you have it. An army different from the same old Imperium armies. Are the Daemons the very best army in the 40K universe? Well, that's another debate. I can tell you, they are a very game army that people hate to face!
so far, daemons and tau, even though i want a more shooty army, i still want some cc and as of now i am leaning more to daemons. i almost all ways get saves.....
