I've seen on a lot of threads that people have been wondering what codex should be next so i've decided to make a poll for people to vote and get a good idea of what people want, now i'm only gonna out down the armies that could do with updating so that leaves out Nids/Guard/SW/BA/DE/GK/Vanilla Marines/Orks as I think those armies are capable of holding their own against any opponent (in a friendly environment). So these are the 3 that I pick in order.
Necrons because they've only ever had one codex, they aren't up to date with 5th ed and they really need new models and in an environment where you need to be able to have mobility to capture objectives, Necrons just can't do it.
Sisters of Battle because I don't know about anywhere else but at my local store the codex has been taken off the shelves and now that the other half of the Inquisiton are to be released this saturday they also need to catch up with them imo. Apart from that they can still cope with being able to capture objectives.
And finally Tau because they also have an old book, granted it's not as old as Necrons, but theres not many decent builds for them to use plus with every new codex getting more and more powerful I think Tau are losing what their suppossed to be which is a powerful and mobile army, they just can't deal with some of the new units that the latest codexes are churning out.
Sorry there was meant to be a poll but it hasn't worked so I'll give it two weeks and tally at the end.

Necrons: Their book is still the third edition book fhs!! No transports in a game where mobility has become everything, no special characters, no upgrades of any kinds for units, WBB is so confusing that my opponents spend more time reading my book to make sure that I'm not cheating than we they do playing... I PLAY Necrons and I think it's my worst army. These guys really stink from every angle possible.
Tau: Mostly because their book is just awful. I've never seen a Tau army do well anywhere I've played, and when I sit down and read the book I keep thinking to myself "how would I even make this work?". Tau don't just need an update, they need what Necrons need; a major overhaul. Any Codex where your troops are so bad that most people take the absolute minimum of them to be legally on the table, need a good looking at.
Witch Hunters: Will probably be renamed Sisters of Battle and hopefully will have a bit better points values for units. Honestly, I love the flavor of this army and I hope it stays dark and gothic but I think it need some reorganizing and points balancing to bring it in line with what's out there now.
Those would be be my top 3 as well. These 3 are also my armies, so the order doesn't matter too much to me.
I too agree with Tau, Necrons, and Witch hunters (in that order muahaha). I really want to see an all battlesuit army/XV9 hazard suits!
I think everyone is going to post the same three. I love my Necrons, I really do, but they need an update so badly. WBB is awesome, but a confusing mess, and way too many of their already limited number of units are worthless (I'm looking at YOU, pariahs!). The biggest problem, however, is that the changes to the vehicle table in 5th ed crippled gauss weapons, leaving us without any form of reliable anti-armor in a mechanized world.
Tau and SoB need updates too, but I don't know much about those armies, so I'll leave the commentary to those who do.
I agree with the people here. Tau, Crons then Sisters. Tau was the first army I ever played, so im always keen for them to get some loving.
Space Wolves (Under Construction) | Circle of Orboros (Under Construction)
While I don't play either the Necrons, Tau or Sisters of Battle, it would be nice to see more of them out there to play against.
it's been 4 years since the CSM dex came out, and there are some pretty glaring shortcomings to it. with that said, i hardly think the army is crippled, as i do quite well with them. i just think the dex could be so much better than it is, i.e. better psychic stuff, and something to actually incentivize having legion themed armies.
I love the smell of promethium in the morning.
