What Space Marine army would you pick? Just a silly thought that popped into my head, I'l probably never play Space Marines but I do like Dreadnoughts so I started thinking, What Space Marine ary can have the most Dreadnoughts in a armylist?
Blood Angels....there are just soo many to choose from. Initially I'd rather see it with a Deathwing army insted, but definitely Blood Angels.
Is there just many to chose between, Or is there many in diferent troop types such as elite and heavy so you can have many in your army too? (By many I mean more then one or two.. XD) I currently play Tau and will probably remain with Tau (Only played 1 match so far) But it is fun to think about other armies and plot on other armies to get even if I never get them XD
Take the marine siege army list from the Badab War books who can take lots of dreads in squadrons of 1-3 per slot.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
If I ever deside to get a Space Marine army I'd prefer to just use the stuff in the codex and not from the Forgeworld books.
I've come against five Dreads in a Blood Angels army before. The rest of the army were deep striking or in Razorbacks. That was annoying to face.
Don't buy too much Tau though, a codex may come this year.
I already got a bunch of stuff for the Tau, Got it for cheep second hand from a friend. About 900 points worth of Tau I belive for 600 SEK, Thats about 90 USD ^_^ Oh, also, What point level where you on when your opponent had 5 Dreadnoughts? Over 2000 points? Are all the Blood Angel Dreadnoughts Elite exept for the standard one thats heavy? Alright, I want this army list if I ever start Blood Angels Blood Angels: Sample Armies - Part 2: Page 3 | Blood Angels Articles | Armies of Warhammer 40,000 Articles | Games Workshop XD (Also, Why cant I make diferent paragraphs anylonger? I hit enter and make multiple paragraphs, Then post and it all gets pulled together to 1 paragraph..)

With to point limit the army that can field the most dreads is blood angels (3 Elites, 3 Heavy, 5 Troops) or orks since killer kans come in squadrons (2 deff dreads troops, 9 killer kans heavy).
Grek knights can have 3 Venerables in elites and 3 normal in heavy all with fortitude so that is pretty strong also.
Space Wolfs can have 4 with Bjorn
Chaos can have 6 if you consider the defiler as a dread (he is a walker)
I am building a list for laughs with 6 ironclads with the space marine codex (3elites, 3 heavy)
"Iron Within, Iron Without"
If you are not averse to using Forge World lists then the Orks can take even more than what Black Rose mentions. In imperial armour 8 they can take a total of 35:
2 Mek Dreds for your HQ
5 lots of 3 deff dreds for troops (6th troops slot is a mandatory boyz mob)
3 lots of 5 Killa Kans for Fast attack
3 Mega Dreads for Heavy support.
Thats alot of stompyness!
I've been pondering this one myself because the next direction I want to go with my SM is for a dread heavy army, and I'll probably start up a poll to that effect one of these days. Personally, I think Blood Angels do the best dread army, if only because of all the variety included the codex. Maybe not the most min-maxed, but you have psyker dreads, av13 dreads, berserker dreads, and default dreads spread across 3 FOC areas. I think it would give you the most variety, the most number of dreads on the table, and be the most fun to play.
Second place goes to vanilla marines, since you have 3 dread variations in elite and heavy. Of course, don't forget grey knights (for super-dreads), though you'll be fielding fewer models, and space wolves, since they have an HQ dread. The main thing I don't like about the last two (GK and SW) are that they make for better footsloggy style dread armies, whereas I personally feel that a dread army requires drop pods to really get the most out of the army.
