I have found that at this time I have hard a very difficult time picking a 40k race, I spent lots of money on picking on fantasy race, I've tryed not to do that with 40k so in spite of these lack of events I have only spent lets see... 60dollers on chaos marines, thats alot less than the money in fantasy. To the center of this topic I have now come to the chance where I can slowly eeeease into Chaos Undivided or I can change my race. The reason I have had these thoughts is because we I first got my starter set I didn't quite like space marines and DE than I thought hey Chaos marines would be cool, not the most played race and other reasons. Than I was going to collect them but I took a hard look at tyranids, IG and Tau. My brother got TAU which stoped be there and than people said how exspensive tyranids would be at this point in warhammer. Than other people pointed out how exspensive IG are. As I progressed in my reserch I thought, wouldn't the mass amount of troops and cost of tanks in each IG box even the cost out? As doing further reaserch I Decided that maybe IG are little to exspensive, as going further into my reserch Chaos Space marines had unigue cults and were cheap but as I got the codex and the box of units, after assembling and doing even further reserch I noticed that chaos space marines were not to my likeing. I than progressed more into the reserch of there cults and other races. As I stepped back into my shoes of regretful spot just like I had encountered in fantasy I had relized that Imperial Guard were more cooler than ever. Now at my final peak of reserch I have found that I must rather swhitch to Imperial Guard or Stay at Chaos Undivided... or do even further reserch. These are all problems you most be aware of when you collect a race. To all the noobies out there please do your reserch VERY VERY throughly and never listen to what anyone says on what race you should pick. That was my down fall. I hope you can see these errors and not make them yourself. Another very important thing is that if you get money from your parents like I do and have already started a race and want to switch you must do it like you are holding a bomb! I had trouble in fantasy doing it and I'm realy trying not to do it in 40k
Jebus says, "...poopy?"!
Build a lost and damned army : both IG and chaos.
Where do I get those rules? Just from the website PDF right? I look at them had alot of rules.
yea, when it comes down to it, you have to really find out what you like to do when you play. you gotta narrow narrow narrow it down.
heres how i picked what i wanna play as:
1st what army's won't you play? like i wont play eldar cause there fruity elfs i also won't play as good marines cause they remind me of our government.
2nd shooty or choppy?? me, i'm choppy so no shooty for me.
3rd evil or good? i'm one twisted *****, i like pain and other stupid evil traits, so i lean twards evil.
4th review your list of remaining army's, nixx the ones you don't wanna play.
5th compair the remaining armies, model looks, ease of painting, fun rules, fluffy?
well, by 5 you should have a damn good idea of your army.
see, i picked worldeaters, cool choppy evil maniacs perfect.
afterwards i found out worldeaters were perfect for my style of play, but blunt is a glorious understatment of there style. fits perfectly with khorne, who's motto is if brute force isn't working then you obviously arn't using enough. so, i learned to use blunt tactics
now, i'm feeling the need for sirgical precision, so i started collecting nids.
worldeaters are my dull battleaxe
tyranids are my hair thin scalpel
makes for lots of fun when you love cc
Take my words with a grain of salt, i am not the tactical genius i think i am!
Valhallan is giving some very good advice here. Research, research, research. That's exactly what I did when I started 40k. I already had an eye for Black Templars, but I spent several months researching just to be sure before buying my first box. I've never even considered starting another army ever since.

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/cha...ned/default.htm Those are the rules right there right? I looked at em and a.. I got to say, way to hard and cunfuseing to play lol. I'm not even sure if some of those are legal from what I know lol.
For LatD, you need codex eye of terror. You might also need the IG codex or the White Dwarf issue with the Armoured Company list (UK296)
Catapultam habeo. Nisi omniam pecuniam mihi dabis, saxum immanem ad capitem tuum mittam.
fantasy is more expensive that 40k i live int he uk where it cheaper to buy the stuff and even im out of pocket
WELL SAID, NO MORE SQUATS THEY ARE DEAD GET OVER ITOriginally Posted by artificer
first off, paragraphs. use them
ok, it sounds like Lost and the Damned was *made* for people like you
to use LatD you'll need
1. Eye of Terror Codex (or a photocopier, not that i'm suggesting that...!
2. Codex: Chaos Space Marine (you can use deamons!
3. Codex: Imperial Guard (only if you want to use Traitors fast/heavy)
i think LatD is a fun and unique army, in fact i would make one if i didn't already have an Imperial Guard army!
in Gerneral Are the Blood Angels more Choppy or Shooty???
