I need different opinions than the people that hang out in the Eldar Subforum. I modified
this thing about 20 times making it better and better. I will be mainly fighting Space
Marines and/or Necrons. The Dark Reapers and Heavy Weapon Platforms with the
Starcannons will rip the charging marines to shreds and my Howling Banshee crew will
wipe the melee Space Marines clean. My Wraithlord will have a Bright Lance and will be
my anti-tank support and the Howling Banshees will also escort it through the terrain
incase the Marines decide to try and take it out melee. The two groups of Guardians will
just shoot anything that moves, I would be dead again 'nids, I know that, but for now I
am only fighting Space Marines & Necrons.
I need comments for how to make this army better.
The first thing I notice is that your gaurdian squads are pitifully small. Especially against marines and necron, they will not last long against strength 4 AP 5 weaponry. I also see that you seem to have one vyper but it has 2 star cannon....I think you may need to revise this. My reccomendation would be to drop the vyper completely in favor of some more guardians and/or a warlock with conceal for both squads to increase their survivability. Also consider giving your howling banshee exarch an executioner blade because the extra strength will help against the toughness of marines and necron.
The enemies of the Emperor fear many things. They fear discovery, defeat, despair and death. Yet there is one thing they fear above all others. They fear the wrath of the Space Marines!
Please don't use double space on your text. It takes up a lot of extra room.No matter what you post or how many times you modify it, you will always get other suggestions. That's because there is no right answer. Everyone's opinion is based on their experience with the army, either with or against. Each person will have a favorite unit(s) and an opinion on how well it performs. My suggestion is just put together a list, don't worry about it and go out and play. You'll develop your own preferences and can better change your army to fit your style.Originally posted by consular@Dec 5 2004, 21:41

That is right, it does take up a lot more room. But it looks cleaner and it makes it look like I wrote a lot and makes me feel special so at the end of the day I can pat myself on the back and smile with the light of Jesus because I am such a good person.Originally posted by WolfRaider@Dec 6 2004, 14:42

Anyways I think I will remove the vyper and add 2 warlocks with Conceal to both of my 8-man squads. I have gotten help that said I will be fine against Necrons and Space Marines because of my Dark Reapers and Banshees. I plan on keeping a defensive position so that my banshees can give support to which ever squad needs it. I am finding the point value for removing the Vyper and adding 2 Warlocks now.
I can't find the point value for an Executioner blade, can someone help me out here? Its not in the Craftworld Eldar Wargear in the back or the front pages either.
You've still got two powers on each of your Warlocks. A Warlock cannot have more than one Warlock Power. Drop the Spirit Stones and extra powers off them and you've freed up quite a few more points.
Also, note that Dark Reapers have a maximum squad size of 5 -- so the eight you've listed would need to be in two squads of 4.
Runes of Witnessing are of dubious worth IMO. At Ld 10, you'll get your powers off 91.6% of the time anyway. Adding RoW increases this to 96.8% -- a modest increase at best. On the other hand, your chances of falling victim to the warp increase from 5.6% to 12% -- more than doubling.
Adding to what SableWyvern has said, Warlocks can't have Spirit Stones either. Wargear is for Farseers only.
Other problems with your list include:
Your Farseer is 81 points, not 76.
Your Howling Banshees are 160 points, not 144.
Damn, okay i'll fix that. Is my exarch the correct amount of points?
