Well, managed to peak my brother's interest with my Dark Eldar and I figured I'd give him some of my dark eldar so he can go play at the local shop (and gives me an excuse to buy more :shifty: ). Below is intended to be a beginners 500 pt. Dark Eldar list, I went troop heavy because I'm pretty sure he'll suicide his raiders, Or lose them alot till he learns (hopefully double teaming enemy squads like I've been telling him).
10 Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lance
10 Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lance
7 Warriors
8 Warriors
Basic Tactics: Don't show Raider till absolutely necessary so they'll stay alive a little longer while the sniper squads have been given a chance to dwindle down the enemy. Double team with the raider squads.
Lots of models for a 500 point list, probably the most forgiving way to go for a novice player... Maybe you should get rid of the raiders and make the small squads foot slog, give them 2 SC's, and 2 blasters (That should be enough punch to take down some squads)... If you're gonna foot slog you should go all out...
heres my idea for the replacements for the raider squad.

Yeah, sounds good. I just don't think he'd be able to learn the essence of the Dark Eldar. Which I believe is double teaming essence. Because let's face it, if he deploys those two squads, it's going to be a long walk across the battle field and by the time he gets to shoot his SC's he'll probably be being showed upon by bolter fire.
Which I believe is AP 5, which will quickly and efficiently dwindle numbers.
I'll see, But yeah you're probably right that that would be a better way to go, because he could even shelter them, and pounce when the enemy gets close.
Your army list looks good, just be sure to disembark your raider squads in cover!
Yeah, I like it. The only thing I don't really like is the SC's.
I don't know, for some reason I dont' like SC's. Everytime I look a the list I always think there's a better way to spend those 20 pts. But I guess double guessing your self won't help you on the field
The list looks good for a beginner army. I wouldnt replace the raiders with more footslogging troops. They would get eaten up by regular weapons like bolters and shuriken catapults etc. For your bro to learn the "essence" of the dark eldar army as you have put it he needs to get used to raiders. I think you have him headed on a pretty good track.
Also, you may want to get him used to wyches and getting them into close combat. They are a key point in my army for exploiting weak points in an enemies army.
Good luck, I think you are headed the right way.
