vote for the best CC army becasue i mite start a CC army
LeArN HoW To lOsE BeFoRe YoU LeArN TO WiN
I voted orks because they get so many attacks on the charge it's mind boggling, plus you add in the 'not-so-humble' choppas (Uge or otherwise) and they just make mince meat out of terminators, space marines or what ever they face!
Nids! Need I say more?
Gyauayuayuayua! Ja! Ve vill crush da little girly men in deir little girl men awrmor! Ve vill see owur enemies driven befowur us, und hear da lahmentaytions of deir wemen. Und from owur home planet, de stayte uf Califowurnia, ve vill lawunch owur mighty offensive. Even if you kill us, ve'll be bach!! Gyauayauyauyauyau!
-Arnoldunit Schwarzenecronegger; when questioned about the impending doom he would rain down upon the heads of his doomed enemies.
I voted for the Nids, but i'm not sure.
I think a decent 13th Company army could do alot of damage against any army in CC. The fact that they hit opponents on 3+ and get extra attacks with the Mark of the Wulfen. Combine this with the amount of power weapons they can field and you can through most combats. The only downsides to them is the number of models that you can field in 1000pts, it's usually >40.
Thats why i chose Nids, they can have huge armies that are designed entirely for combat. But they have virtually no armour against most weapons apart from guardsmen.
Every army has elements that are good in CC, you just have to choose the one thats suites your style of gameplay.
I voted for orks, Slugga Boys are probably the best points per effetivlness in the game. T4, WS4, two attachs, and a Choppa. For those who don't know, that takes 2 or 3+ armour saves to a 4+! Speed Freaks are increadible against troop Heavy armies.
It could possible be Nids, but I havn't seen enough of them.

Sir Winston Churchil
Has to be nids. Hormagaunts. Genestealers. Lictors. Flying Hive tyrants. 'nuff said. All they need is goddamn invulnerbles!
To be fair, orks are also rock-hard in combat, as are 13th company (they're all veteran sergeants, ffs! Ahh! I am currently in the process of putting together a 13th company list.
I think the army with the most lethal close combat capability is the Dark Eldar. Suped up archons and wyches can down almost anything. But if you are looking for entire armies, try a dark eldar wych cult, nids, or orks. All are fragile, yet quick, cheap, and maneuverable.
Archons are just beardy. That 2+ invulnerable is rediculous! Yes, you do lose it if you fail it, but i've NEVER killed a DE lord with one. Ever. And my brother used to play DE. I hate Dark Eldar almost as much as tau. And I play nids.
Maybe that's why I'm so bitter about that invulnerable.
in my opinion I collect irn war nurgle n kroot and kroot is definetely the best a lot of attacks on the charge.. n they have 20 man squads
Are grey knights included in space marines?
grey knights are WS 5, all are at least S6 and the ones in power armour can use their storm bolters in close combat!!!
the terminators have 2 attacks and are VERY strong (12 if the scale went higher!)!!!
downside is that they are Very expensive (assault marine with jetpack expensive/ termies are VERY expensive bu Mr. grandmaster kick bottom!
