Hi, I'm utterly new to WH40K, and I tried starting with Tyranids after I got the Battle for Maccrage set, but found that they weren't my thing. I played a few battles with them, but I hate CC and I prefer to stay back and shoot, which didn't work overly well with them. So I'm getting rid of all my old Tyranid stuff, and trying for a new army. Im trying to get into one with less numbers, and more elite and shooty. My choices come down too...
Chaos Space Marines
Both of these choices imo have lesser numbers then most armies, and have alot of background and character to them. my only problem is...which one would be better for a newbie player like me? Im really bad at painting, and wnat to get better, and I think I'd be best to start out with an army that is a little less complex detail wise. What are your opinions, any help would be great

Go for space marines, easier to paint than chaos, and probably better for starting.
If you want easy to paint you could go with necrons they are stupidly easy, but space marines are what a lot of people go for when starting

well since u got the Battle for Maccrage set i will properly start the marine so u wont waste money buy chaos. however chaos is better a bit in combat n shooting then marines in my opinions so if u like shooting than ill would go with slanessh or iron warriors but if u like close combat go with khorne. chaos is a bit harder to paint than space marines though.

I'm still unsure, I really like Chaos, so Im thinking Im just going to go with my gut on this one. I didn't last time, and I ended up paying $40 for Tyranids I'm not going to use. Chaos is my choice, and thanks to all of you who lent an opinion, it really did help me flesh out a few things to help me make a decision.
