HQ

Wolf Lord: Frost blade, Belt of Russ, bolt pistol- 120

Rune Priest: Frost Blade, Bolt pistol, Mark of the wulfen, Wolf tail tailsman- 132

    Troops:

    1. Grey Slayers (10) 1 with Meltagun, 1 with plasma gun, Wolf Guard 275

battle leader with bolt pistol, power fist, mark of the wulfen

    2. Grey Slayers (10) 1 with Meltagun, 1 with plasma gun, Wolf Guard 275

battle leader with bolt pistol, power fist, mark of the wulfen

    Elites

Storm Claws ( 1 power weapon, 1 power fist 238
Battle leader with bolt pistol, power fist, mark of the wulfen,

    Fast Attack

Storm Claw Bike Squad (5) 1 with power weapon 1 with meltagun, wolf guard leader
with power fist and mark of the wulfen 245

    Heavy Support

    Long Fangs (5) 218

    2 lascannons
    2 missle launchers

    pts:1500

The main theme of this army is that I expect vitrually every unit to get into close combat hence giving the mark of the wulfen to my squad leaders. As much as i like the wulfen i would only include them in a larger game due to the fact that i have to have the Wolf lord as an Hq choice. On a side note, who here thinks that the retinues rule should be suspended for the 13th company, or at least modefied? They have very few numbers as it is and i dont think that they would assign retinues for the dwindiling numbers of leaders that they have. Any suggestions would be great.

    because they aren't worth it.

nice and all 4 attacks, but no powerweapons.

better to have a stormclaws with 2 powerweapons is the same price but much more efficient.

    same with grey hunters.

They are going to be with squads so the armor save wont matter, anyway if i put a 2+ save on it, ill lose a troop for each one i use, i need all the troops i can get

Also you couldnĀ“t use the special stealth move rule bevor the game if you use terminator armour for the leaders.

I like your list, I will start by killing your Devastor squad since you don't have any extra guys to soak up wounds. Then as the bulk of your army footslogs toward me, I will target your Stormclaws and Bikes since they have better mobility; but, are also not many in number. And finally, I will drive circles around your last two squads (not enough to gain table quarters by the way) as I blast away at them or flank charge.

No seriously, if your opponent does not allow you to get into close quarters - Saim-Hann Eldar, Tau, Dar Eldar, Necron, shooty Marines - or bogs you down - Imp Gaurd, Marines with mobs of guys, you will be in serious trouble. Hey but if you run into Tyranids, Orks, or less strategic players you should be alright.

Suggestions, make the army a little bit more balanced by adding some guys that can soak up wounds, and drop the "Uber" gear on some of the big guus. I would try to get 10 stormclaws, at least 7-8 Devastors (its your only HS), and maybe drop the bikes in favour of another troop choices or two or if you can swing it, take two small bike squads so your opponent has split his shooting.

    Good luck, and have fun.

PS If you like your original army list go with it, just be aware that it will limit some of your stratagies, so be careful during setup, and don't fall into your opponents game.
