Which one what?
which of the three do you prefer or think is the best or whatever?
Ah, an inquiry into personal opinion.
Well, I favor fast, close combat armies, so I prefer the Dark Eldar myself. Others will undoubtedly choose based on the army style they prefer the most.
i see. yeah. i just started playing WH40K and i do not have an army yet. i am not sure what i want to play. so i made this thread. hopefully it will help...
Every army you listed is good. All the Armies are good, in fact, so it's simply a matter of what you see yourself playing.
My advice for you is to ask yourself this question:
What kind of army do I want to play?
Do you want to slay your foes in close combat, or shoot them up? Do you want to employ lots of specialized units, or a few generalized ones, or do you want some combination of things?
Based on the three choices given, I'd divide things into:
Close Combat: Dark Eldar
General (50/50): Daemonhunters
For a new player, I'd advise playing an army that can do both shooting and close combat equally well until you decide which one you prefer. Collect a small force of some army (or find an opponent willing to let you play with proxies) and get some general idea how the game is played before you make your decision.
okay. but i am also a sucker for the story element to it. so also they have to look cool and have a good stroy behind them. i dont know. i need some help. i cant decide...
Every army has a history. They will ALL provide you with what you seek in this regard. Choosing an army based on fluff can be a recipe for disaster, however. Play the army whos tactics you enjoy, rather than the army who's history you like, because they've ALL got good histories. I personally like the Flesh Tearers chapter of Space Marines... yet I'm a Tyranid player and have no intent to ever play a Space Marine army.
I was in your situation not just a week ago in just starting Warhammer and finding an army. What the others have said is right, when you pick an army you need to say "What style of fighting will I find exciting and challenging." If you want to be Necrons you will be focusing on keeping most of your troops out of close combat and shooting a lot, The Daemonhuntes are an army that often fields a few very powerfull and high point units that are very strong all round. The Dark Eldar I can't claim to know about. What I can say is this, out of the three you listed the Necrons will be the most forgiving army to start playing, DH and DE have less room for error in their fights. And once again what the others have said is right, they all have some very cool fluff. That said I myself choose a pure Daemonhunter army and after fighting a few battles and loseing them all I can still say I love them dearly and all the fluff that surrounds them. But all are awsom, I would recomend barrowing friends Codexes on these armies if you can to really learn about them.
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.
