So what do you think is the best number of points to fight with in a generic game?
Just your run of the mill, walk into the shop, say, "Hey, you wanna play?" and then just get down to it?
I find smaller numbers to be more enjoyable, each unit choice is important and can effect the game. Not too small though, some armies do better than others depending on the size.
Thus, I find 750-1000 point games to be the best.
What about you?
Also, how the heck do I make a poll cause that's what this should be. 0_o

Personally I prefer 1500. This allows for a large mix of models and more flexibility with the lists. And it's fun to see ppl trick out different units and the ensuing chaos that this causes
Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
What exactly are the best ranges for different ranges?
As in, do Tau fight better the larger the point size?
Are some armies just killer in a specific smaller range?
IDK, I just don't aim to be playing anything over a 1000 honestly.
Well, let's see. If yer gunna play sum o' dem tournies, ye be needin' prolly 1700-1850 thar.Originally Posted by Shas'o Tau Dev'n Kauyon
Anyways, I can see all armies doing decent (though most lists at the lower points are very...generic) at the small ranges and all of them having their own feels in larger ranges. I see a whole lot more variety, however, with big ranges so that's why I play them - I don't feel so similar to everyone else.
The armies I see doing not-so-hot in small points is Daemonhunters w/ GK, and Necrons...Space Marines -maybe- but not nearly as much as DH and Necrons...ouch. Talk about being outnumbered.
I find that the smaller points games for my IG are much more difficult to win than larger point games. This is coming from an army that is already slightly more difficult to win with than average, so I would have to say that I like the bigger points games better.
All of the games where I play are 1850, which is tournament size, so everyone always has an 1850 point list at my store.
I think Necron's get screwed in lower point games...
What about combat patrol? Are most armies alright there? Since there are less restrictions I would think most armies would be alright...
I would say 1000-1500pts. games are the best for a generic game.
